Seeing A Nightmare Dressed As A Dream

I know that I seem more like ice than water,
But within reason I am cold to people,
Even those that I am in love with their daughter,
Even to those that go to the church with steeple,
But that is because I may be the dark violent type,
But at least I know I have reason for my caution,
My caution for those that want to wipe me from present,
For those that see who I am and it is me they resent,
They are the sane and the insane,
One way or the other they may be my bane,
Although I am safe,
Safe from my enemies both future, present, and past,
I fear that I am no longer sane,
Because looking for a nightmare,
When that nightmare is disguised as a dream,
That is why paranoid is what I may seem,
Until I can tell the nighmares from the dreams,
I am afraid that it is my fate to fall apart,
Fall apart from my mental seams
