I have Dreamt

To dream is to see a movie playing in your mind, or perhaps it is to see your wishes become a reality. But then what would it be called when the dream comes true?
I have dreamt of love, I have dreamt of you.
I had this dream long ago of a man visiting me, he would love me for all that I am, he would caress me in a secure way, with him I never felt alone or scared. I would wake to realize it was but only a dream, and then I would feel heart break, for it seemed so real.
I couldn’t wait to fall asleep each night, hoping I would meet, once again the man I came to love in my heart so dear. Each meeting we had, I got the chance to know you more and more, each dream that I had, became more and more real. I could feel, smell, touch and remember the sound of your voice. And though it was but a dream, I knew you were the one I have been searching for, to make me feel alive inside. The one I would find happiness in, as I was surrounded by the cruelty’s of a cold dark world.
I accepted that I would only get to meet you at night in my minds eye, and it was enough to make me see, that even I deserved to be loved. And then one day, through a friend I met this guy, I never realized who he really was, until…
Our first date, our first kiss good-night. In that moment all became so clear, so real, I almost cried. For I knew with out a doubt it was a reality, and I would never be alone.
I have dreamt of love, I have dreamt of you!
Years have gone by now, and the dreams have stopped, but each time I kiss you, or see you smile, I know my heart will never be broken, because my dream came true.
