Purple Flowers

Purple flowers along my way
As I walk to the store on a day like today
Stop and smile as I shake my head
You'll help me find another way instead
Summer's passed, the blooms are gone
Back to the store I trudge along
Grey the day, and brown the grass
But purple flowers I always pass
Purple flowers replaced the blade
Beauty for pain, a worthy trade
Author's Notes: I thought I was alone and unwanted, I thought all I had to do was walk to the store and buy a nice new razor to make everything better. The Gods showed me otherwise.
Cutting only makes things better for the moment. The Goddess helped me find my way out of that dark place, but only when I was ready to stop and pay attention.
