Old Man Archie

ruby blossoms dance
around the foot of an old soul.
Silent
Dignified
Peaceful
a soul of time.
of many winters and summers following.
a happy, sorrowful beauty
spun from life’s hap-hazard games
of troubles in chance
heartfelt lullabies
songs of love or war
work or play,
and the tall tales of yesterday.
Sing loud
Lovely
And full-belled
to an old soul of time.
dance with the cherry blossoms
at his footstep,
hug and kiss the wind
run with the rain
hold hands with the heavens
and laugh as pink clouds
tickle your nose.
sleep in cool starshine
breast to Mother Earth
and heart to an old
Soul of time
Standing silent
Amongst winters
and summers following
Goddess Bless Old Man Archie
Author's Notes: This is dedicated to the man who put his heart and soul into the house my family now lives in. If you turn around too quickly, you can still see him smiling out of the corner of your eye.
