Morning Life
by Faerie Psyren
Age Group: Adult
the hilarity of morning life
gives my heart a smile and a Jump.
children wear shirts on backwards
the cat is bathed in the first cup of coffee
and vacuum cleaners let out a Whistle.
talk of race cars, ninjas, and wildcat kings
reach your ear as dogs
Nip at your rear!
the living room Coughs as it suffers
Second-hand smoke
(cigars and the morning bacon unleashing
swirls and smells to fill the home) .
birds sing the Blues
just south of your front yard
and kiss the sun, lovingly,
at morning’s first breath.
as the sun rises High
laughter fills the room
and hugs it tight
happily,
in the morning light.
