Gray-eyed Soul
by Faerie Psyren
Age Group: Adult
gray eyes drift over
a small crowd of three,
spotlights dim
banjos sing
coffee gets cold
and cigarette smoke,
dances towards the ceiling.
soul flows rapidly
through his fingertips,
a chorus of angels
unleashed from guitar strings.
we,
just an audience
follow down the beaten path
of a gray-eyed soul,
to where banjos can sing
and coffee tastes best
cold
