Children of a Smaller Planet

by Sister Eve

Age Group: Adult

These children before us, their ways seem strange to us.
They do not walk or talk like our ancestors of the Mother land,
for they are children of the world now.
Ever bridging the gaps between land and custom.
This is GOOD.

Fear not the loss of the old ways-
they carry them and much more in their hearts,
into a future we may not see with our own eyes but in them-
in their smiles and in their circular horizons.

These children who hold hands across the entire planet,
and so are more blessed than ever before.

Pray that their message always be one of peace
between all sons and daughters of the Earth.
That the mixing of blood be in the castle,
and not on the battlefield,
that the lost breath be from hugs too tight,
and the only things fired be gifts and gaaz
from strong young hands!
that the only red we
see is of flowers, sunsets, and birth.

Arm them only with the courage of their convictions,
to move ever forward with the ethics of the wise ones,
and the love of their Mothers.

Trust that the lessons of the past have been well learned,
and mistakes not repeated.
Let all tears be of joy and sweat be from honest toil,
never again carrying the scent of anger or fear.

May these wonderful, brave children dance down these roads we have laid down with our backs and our hearts,
and their path be brightly lit with our hopes,
prayers, and bright blessings.
