"Witch"

"What comes to mind when you hear the word 'Witch'? Do you envision a caricature of an old woman, wart on her nose, wearing a tall, pointy hat, and riding a broom? Or maybe you see more of a dark, cloaked, faceless figure mixing evil potions and conjuring up frightening, demonic spirits? Maybe a 'devil' worshipper, desperately fighting, as a 'would be god', in a battle for ownership of heaven and hell?

When I hear the word 'Witch' what comes to mind is a woman. One who is empowered, filled with light, love, strength, and purpose. She is feminine. She is strong.
She loves her Body, Trusts her Mind and Follows her Heart.
She has no doubt that she is beautiful. She realizes how miraculous Her body is, and honors it. She doesn't just 'accept' her body, she absolutely revels in its beauty, its sensuousness, its power, and its ability to create and re-create!
She continually 'finds' that which she has never really been without, for within herself, she finds peace, power, wisdom, healing and strength. She finds Goddess!
She is Goddess! She knows that Goddess is wihin her; within all things! She does not need to seek something which is hidden from her. She knows where it can be found.
She loves all of life. She does not see herself as greater than the animals, rocks, trees or stars. She knows that all of life is sacred and that She is a part of the whole.
She draws upon her own energy, and the energy within all things, and uses it to create. She does not sit back and wait for something or someone to come along and 'fix' her world; nor does she blame others when 'bad' things happen.
And She does not live in fear. She lives in power! She lives her life on purpose, creating all the time, and She takes full responsibility for all of her actions.
She is not bound, not by man, fear, shame, society or anything else. She is free and complete within herself!
She treats others in the same way that She would like to be treated; with love and respect.
She is careful with her words. For she knows that once spoken, they cannot be taken back. She knows that Her words are powerful and Her intentions are also. She is very careful with her thoughts as well, for a thought once spoken, or a thought put to action cannot be undone.
She watches as life, as nature changes, and sees that she too changes, from season to season, from end to beginning. Life is cyclical. Her life is cyclical; from Maiden, to Mother; from Mother to Crone. As the moon cycles so does she. Her power waxes and wanes. Her blood ebbs and flows.
She lives her life on both planes, the mundane as well as the magical. For life is in the 'seen' as well as the 'unseen' or 'yet to be seen'. One life cannot be lived without the other and one is not more important than the other. Both come together to create Her world, and She tends to both with love and care.
She dances the dance of the Goddess, along with all women; for She too is a part of the whole, a part of the magick which is called Goddess, this Wonderful, and never-ending circle!
She embraces everything that makes her a Witch.
She is Witch. She is Me.
