"I am a Witch."
*I will start by saying that being a Witch comes from within. What I mean is, you are not a witch because of what you 'Do', instead, you are a Witch because of what you believe. Just as going to church doesn't make one a Christian; doing ritual, or any other pagan activity does not make one a witch. Doing them only enhances your life, or for some; is simply for show. The true Witch, knows that power and peace come from within, and cannot be found in things or activities.

*I am no longer a Christian. What most people call christianity, I call 'churchianity'. The christian church, twists and manipulates its alleged message, in order to control believers. I am no longer a believer. I am a seeker. I also do NOT believe that the bible is the infallible word of god. Rather than simply believing whatever the church taught me, I began to do my own research. Because of this, I have come to a new understanding, and no longer believe as I once did. I was once a Christian. I am no longer.

*Where once I found safety in believing that I had all the answers, I now find peace in the unknown.

*Having come out of organized christian religion, and knowing that people fear the word Witch, and with good reason; having been taught for eons that it is evil and something to be feared when, in fact, it is not, I would like to clairify a few things.
*First off, I do not worship Satan! Would it be true that you worship Satan, just because I said you did? And if you believe that I can worship your devil inadvertantly, then beware for the same holds true of you! Remember, he is said to appear as an angel of light. What are you worshipping?
*I am not in a cult. I follow no one, neither do I have a list of rules which I must live by. I am a moral person and an ethical one, and I do not live in fear of a coming judgement. Along these lines I also do not believe in a heaven and a hell like many people do. I believe in consequences for all actions, but I do not believe in a god who sits in judgement of me and will throw me in an eternal jail for being bad, and then throw away the key.
*I do not look outwardly different from others nor am I a 'wanna be'. I am not interested in role playing and I most definitely know the difference between what is truth and what is fiction! . My spirituality is honestly, the most important thing in my life. I take being a witch very seriously. I live a straightforward life and respect others who do the same.
*I am not against you or your beliefs. I am not out to get you or to convert you, convince you or debate with you. I am not in rebellion against 'your truth'. I am not afraid of your hell or judgement, and I am not interested in you trying to save me. I also have nothing to defend or to prove. I am a Witch. If you don't agree with my ways then leave me alone and I will do the same for you.

*I worship 'the Goddess' or Gaia as the Imanence of Nature. The idea of 'Goddess' is both healing and pleasing to me but I worship life for what it is. The All is my source.

*I follow my own path, and am very independent in my thinking. I do not follow anybody's rules and I believe that the truth lies within each of us, and doing anything simply because someone else says to, is utterly pointless.

*I once petitioned a distant god asking him to do things for me and for others. I know now that Divinity is within me. I was put here to learn that I am a creator! The power to create is within me, and my intentions and my will are all the power that I need. Using my intentions, along with the energies around me, I create change. This is the essence of magick. We are creating whether we believe that we are or not. We are always creating something. What are you creating?

* Because of this, I believe that I am 100% responsible for all of my actions; both in thought as well as in deed. Any natural consequences that I incur due to my actions, I am utterly deserving of. This is true of positive as well as negative.
"I am a Witch."
*I repeat, I am a Witch, not a fool. I realize that there are both benevolent as well as malevolent energies. I call upon the energies, spirits, and powers of the Universe/Goddess when performing magic as well as tapping into my own. I know that true magic comes from within. My strength and understanding come from the Goddess.
*I am not evil. Neither do I perpetuate evil. I do not go out of my way to cause harm to others, physically or otherwise. I will, however, use whatever means available whether mundane, spiritual or both to protect, defend and bring justice to those who willingly cause harm to others.
"I am a Witch."
*I was born in 1963. I was not a part of the Renaisance, the Inquisition, or the Witch Hunts. I am not a farmer or a hunter gatherer. Because I live in the time that I do, and because of the way I live my life, I need a spirituality that connects me with the Divine in a way that is meaningful and purposeful to me. Wicca has opened the door to Witchcraft for me, but the Goddess/Universe alone, teaches me what I need to know. I find that many rituals and seasonal celebrations derived from the Wiccan religion are beneficial to me in that they help me to link my Spirit to the world around me. My 'Mother' is my guide. Nature is the most wonderful teacher! If you listen to Her, she will teach you all that you need to know!

*As I stated earlier, I believe that true magic comes from within. I do not 'need' to have any tools whatsoever, or specific correspondences for use in rituals. If I choose to use either or both of them, then I will incorporate various things into my ritual or magic. However, for the most part I use the only tools that any witch really needs; Her Will, Her Spirit, Her Intent and Her Body!

*Throughout my lifetime, I have been able to 'see', 'feel' and to 'know' things. Some might call it a sixth sense, others may call it empathy. All I know is that it comes and goes, but when it's active, it is amazing! I have also had the opportunity to heal people with just the touch of my hands. Do either of these things make me a witch?' Not in my mind they don't. Spiritual abilities belong to many people, regardless of their particular faith. To me it is a reminder; a gift if you will, showing us that we are most definitely one with Divinity!!!

*This is who I am and This is my path. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! (Regardless of other peoples misguided notions.)
