Prayer of the new year

Hunt me as thou wilt
ye of feeble will
of small mind
I canst not be broken thus
Slander my brethren and myself as thou wouldst
ye of impotent words
of blackened heart
We canst not be broken thus
Chase me with your false holiness as thou might
ye of selfish prayer
of tedious thanksgiving
I shall not be broken thus
Brand us with your glares as thou wilt
ye of blurred sight
of closed mind’s-eye
We shall not be broken thus
Importune me with thy venom as thou wilt
ye of twisted speech-craft
of beguiled intent
I will not be broken thus
Entreat us not to burn as though ye may
ye who fear death
as ‘twere like black evil
We will not be broken thus
Speak not to me in vain of fire,
for this thing you call love
is the lovechild of ignorance.
Do not let the shame of hate
bereave you any longer
When we look in your eyes, and we do thus;
we see the ruin shame has brought you
the fire that consumes your thoughts;
That which without water
will not cease.
Love quelches all destruction.
Know and love in that ye are
brothers and sisters all.
So Mote It Be.
And So It Is.
Author's Notes: To lead a young Pagan group without meeting severe opposition from other groups here on the University of Wyoming campus is hard. We have met much hatred and hardship. My, our, only wish is that the Goddess' love will conquer all.
