Earth Goddess

Goddess who created all beauty and is its manifestation
I offer these poor words for my love and appreciation
Methinks that you may feel abandoned and alone
For we poor mortals cannot just call you on the phone
But as your creation is in the splendour of all things
Listen to our love and devotion as each bird sings
See the acknowledgement of your greatness in our eyes
Mirrored in the red sun of every sunset when a day dies
You send the breeze to cool and caress our fevered brow
We send our devotion back with it for always and now
The mountains, green and red are blue, as they seem so far
Distance, like time this vision does enhance and never mar
Falling rain, like tears of fresh clear water comes our way
Sustains life and gives puddles for children to splash and play
Then there is the hush, the feeling of being close to you
When the beauty of the spirit transcends the marvellous view
To taste this we must first be one with this blessed place
Hear, see, smell, taste and feel the wonders of our earth’s face
Only then can the heart open and let in you exquisite essence
You are within and without and we are always in each other’s presence
