The Old Wiccan Warrior

You see someone with a raised spear
Flinching you expect an attack, in fear
Yet, if you only realised, he is an ally
Fighting for our cause, not caring why
The warrior stands steadfast cold and alone
As strong and unshakable as a figure of stone
His actions need neither thanks nor reward
He lives only for the honour lighting his sword
Allegiance forged in love and a word spoken
Will always be honoured and never broken
Lonely is the heart of the Wiccan Warrior bold
Weary his muscles and bones all growing old
But his resolve and dedication remains strong
His oaths and word he will keep no matter how long
His life in the web of creation, merely a stitch
A task to support and protect a pretty little witch
She has hair as red as the blood within his veins
And eyes a glowing green that sees all his pains
He dreams of her caresses and words so soft
Then grits his teeth and hold his shield aloft
