Yule Morning

The horizon smiled a wide smile
As Lord Helios rose in great style
His flaming cloak lighting the sky
Birds sang a fanfare with their cry
Wind carried his warmth on his breeze
As he the leaves and grass did tease
Today the sunrise has a special meaning
As last night against the Yule log we were leaning
We welcome and honour the return of light
When day becomes longer than night

Author's Notes: I am in the southern hemisphere and we have just celebrated Yule. I wish all those in the North a happy Litha
