A Child in Pain

The child’s ear was on fire
The pain all consuming and dire
To help this witch could lose his job
Do nothing, like a coward or a slob?
My heart could bear his pain no longer
I used my crystal with energy stronger
The crystal pulsed and the pain fled
I removed my crystal and nothing was said
A child without fear or pain
Was in truth my real gain

Author's Notes: I am a school teacher in South Africa. With our new government we now enjoy religious freedom, however in a conservative enviroment like teaching, many fundamentalist Christians still show their bigotery. If anyone had seen me healing a child with a crystal, there would have been repercussions. However since my goal was to heal and not self engrandise, I was happy with the result.
