The “Spinning” Wheel of life

The wheel of my spinning bike turns
Life, death, rebirth, the question burns
Sometimes the gear is high, the gradient steep
So to with life, sometimes we laugh; sometimes weep
Sweat pours off my tortured body in a deluge of rain
But birth is the ultimate experience of physical pain
Then death the amazing respite, life’s relaxing shower
Only in exhausted repose do we feel our endless power
Tomorrow we spin again and the cycle is reborn
As with rebirth we are from another womb torn
Hercules be my strength, let the endorphins flow
Energy to the legs and watch the spinning wheel go
A frenzied mechanical song from the wheel and chain
Whispering Lamas, Samhain, Imbolc and magnificent Beltaine
As the wheel spins so does the mind in my poor old head
Flashing pictures of my life, things done and things said
Now is the time to focus my intent on my dear sick friend
Envisage the face and signature; squeeze the energy and send
I am but a spoke in both the wheels of life and the season
A tool in the hands of the Gods my goal and my reason
