Goodbye my best friend

The sumerlands are calling you my friend
As you are approaching this life’s end
All of us who deeply love you know
That you have but a short time to go,
Soon you will regain your immortal glory
This life has been a good and loving story
I mourn, my friend but not for thee
My tears and pain are meant for me
You will leave within me a cavernous hole
For our friendship is that of the soul
The pleasures that we shared I will never forget
I still remember the very first time we met
How we spoke and drank good German beer
Our love of cars happily drawing us near
I will morally support your wife without fail
For she was there when mine crossed the veil
After you are gone come and visit once a year
At Samhain when we will toast another beer
And it won’t be too long before I join you there
This life then becoming nothing but a forgotten care
