Shop Profile: Originally started in 1994 by Ken and Anita Hess as an herb and antique store, (Anita is an RN, herbalist, master gardener and rock hound, Ken, known as the "iconman" for his hobby of collecting statues and memorabilia of all forms of spirituality) , the name HERBS & HEIRLOOMS was chosen for its reference to the1000's of herbs & herbal products and accessories available as well as the large selection of antiques and collectibles.
HERBS & HEIRLOOMS quickly became HERBS & HEIRLOOMS and HOMEBREW too! due to the fact that Ken, being a beer and wine maker, kept jugs and bottles sitting around the store with their contents merrily fermenting. Customers who had never seen the process of fermentation (the process of turning water, sugar, yeast and barley or grapes into a alcoholic beverage) , were, to say the least, surprised as to how beer and wine were made. We were asked if we could help them make their own quality beer & wines at home, so-o-o, one thing led to another as these things sometimes do and HERBS & HEIRLOOMS and HOMEBREW too! was born.
As the years have gone by we have added our other interests to the store by including stones and crystals, books about Wiccans, Pagans, Ancient Egyptians, Buddhists, Hindus, Native Americans, Celts, Druids and other forms of spirituality & statues and figurines of the Gods and Goddesses.
We have in stock and available everyday herbs for spells, potions, or healing, teas, incense, tarot decks, runes, polished stones or crystals, cauldrons, athames, chalices, wands, smudge sticks, crystal balls (clear, colored, or handmade of polished gemstone) , scrying mirrors, statues or figurines, books, books, and more books, magazines, feng shui items, altar cloths, talismans & amulets, pewter and sterling jewelry, candles, pendulums, or any other ritual tool or icon you may need for your rituals or magickal spells.

Directions: HERBS & HEIRLOOMS and HOMEBREW too! is located one block east of Highway 41 (3rd Street) and 3 buildings south of Hulman St. on South 4th St. in Terre Haute, Indiana in a building that was built in 1890. We are 1/2 block south of the Farrington Grove historical district. It is hard to miss us. Just look for our big green awning and a yard full of flowers and herbs, no grass. South 4th St. does not go all the way through Terre Haute, so the easiest way to get to our store is to take 7th Street to Hulman St. or 3rd Street (Highway 41) to Hulman St. HERBS & HEIRLOOMS and HOMEBREW too! is located 3 buildings south of the Heritage Trail Bike Path at the corner of 4th & Hulman St. (Look for our green awning.) The bike path runs along the south side of Hulman St. and turns north on 4th street on the west side.
