Shop Profile: Unicorn Books and Spiritual Resource Center had celebrated 26 years of serving the metro-Boston area, in our new, more spacious location in Cambridge. Sadly, the store closed it's doors in September of 2006 but the community still lives on and remains connected through In the Lap of the Goddess Productions.
Former Manager Carolyn Kepes founded this venture as a way of sustaining the growing community that was concerned about being able to continue to have local place to participate in the rituals and classes that they had come to enjoy. Many of the teachers and celebrants are familiar to those who were regulars at the store, most notably, author and teacher Christopher Penczak, former Manager Chris Giroux and a variety of others. Directions: Most of our Rituals are held at the Cambridge Masonic Building in Porter Square, Cambridge, about half way between Harvard Square and Rte.16/Alwife Brook Parkway. On the T, take the Red Line to Porter Square, walk down Massachusetts Ave. towards Arlington, the Dunkin Donuts should be across the street. Go 1 1/2 blocks, we are on the left side of the street; if you reach the light at Beech Street you have gone too far. Several bus lines run through Porter, and the Fitchburg Commuter Rail runs through Porter from North Station to and from points west. Other classes and events are held at locations close to the Cambridge/Somerville area; addresses are sent to class participants upon registration.
