About Us:

Winn Barrientos is the inspirational teacher and founder of “Seekers of Core Spirituality”, a school for Metaphysical studies and core spirituality. She attended an extensive 36-month graduate program with the “Center of Healing Arts” in Portland, Oregon, and graduated with a Masters in Metaphysical studies in 1988. Winn has been blessed with the ability to continued her studies in the art of healing with course work in; Reiki, Quantum Touch, Pranic, Sound and Aromatherapy, Brandon, and Crystals. She has studied religion and spirituality extensively over the years and finds in heart lies in Elemental and Celtic paths and is an Ordained Interfaith Minister with the Universal Life Church. Winn is currently writing a series of books based on her core studies program and is excited with the possibility of this endeavor. She just joined the talented women of "Empower U" a shop in Longview, Washington and looks forward to meeting you. As a natural sensitive with the gifts of sight, voice and hearing, she has had the opportunity to work with police departments, as well as the Missing Child Network in finding those that have missing or exploited. Her passion lies in awakening the human consciousness to the potential that lies within, and empowering her clients to become the conduit of change for their own lives.

Michael Wills is a core energy instructor and facilitator of “Seekers of the Stones”, a school for core spirituality and Metaphysical studies. He started his journey within the North American Shamanic traditions, and has continued into elemental energy work. He has worked extensively throughout US and abroad for the past 20 years. He strives to help others understand themselves and how best to achieve a balance in their spiritual and physical journeys.

Jeanette attended Ashmead College and graduated with honors in 2008. She has experience in Hot Stone, Shiatsu, Reiki, Reflexology, Aroma therapy, and Spa treatments. She has a passion for massage and believes in the many benefits that one receives when having one. Massage is a perfect elixir for good health, but it can also provide an integration of body and mind. By producing a meditative state or heightened awareness of living in the present moment, massage can provide emotional and spiritual balance, bringing with it true relaxation and peace. She is very proud of her signature Spa treatment the Goddess Bliss Cocoon. Jeanette received her yoga teacher with “expert rating” certification from Mount Madonna Center in 2004. Because she believes that yoga is a life long journey she is continuing her studies, keeping abreast of all of the new techniques. She is looking forward to sharing her passion of this ancient art form with the community so that perhaps they too can experience the beauty of yoga. Jeanette has a zest for life and would like the opportunity to share in her philosophy of living a balanced life, creating love and joy in everyone you meet, and being present in the moment.

Linda Newton began her journey 30 years ago by Catering and creating beautiful cakes to help support her family. Because she carries with her a spirit of caring for others and believes intently in supporting people on their life journeys she became a Minister and received a Doctorate in Metaphysics in 1993. Linda continued her studies by enrolling in Clayton College of natural healing and graduated in 1997 and became a Reiki master in 2007. Gifted with the nickname of “medicine women” from her colleagues she went on to help many clients make miraculous changes in their life though the use of nutritional counseling, herbs and healing. Joining the team at Empower U gives Linda the support to help others empower themselves and become the highest aspect of their selves.

Terrie Phillips has grown up with Bellydancing which is a big part of her essence. Life would have a piece missing without bellydance and seem uneven to her. Bellydance is the celebration of life and the dance is something the spirit can return to for balancing and renewal from within. The inner Goddess deserves and needs the time to rejoice and be free from the Worlds demands and stresses that we and others place on our physical and mental bodies. Bellydance is wonderful for the physical body but is also a release for mind and spirit giving us sanctuary without worry.

Another love of Terrie’s is her interest in both culinary and medicinal herbs. Herbal history and their many uses inspired her to grow herbs to learn through the senses of see, taste, touch and smell as nature itself is the best teacher of herbs! These wonderful plants have lead her to complete Master Gardener training and is a studying Herbalist presently. She has also achieved an Aromatherapy Certificate from Portland, Oregon the Australasian College of Health Sciences. She is enthusiastic in sharing these interests through classes of basic aromatherapy, bath and body concoctions, soap making and also growing, harvesting and using herbs. Handmade and homemade are the best quality and wholesome herbals you can give yourself and your family while saving money too!

Herbs and aromatherapy have also shown Terrie her niche passion in the plant world and that is Sojourn Lavender, her lavender farm located in Toutle, Washington. She currently grows ten varieties of lavender for u-cut, wreaths and dried florets. She conscientiously makes soaps, lotions, oils, and other lavender products for the body, soul and home. This year, July 2009, Terrie will host her first Lavender Festival where guests may cut fresh lavender, sample lavender fare and learn to make lavender wands. She is looking forward to sharing culinary, medicinal, crafting and just plain smelling the sweet scent of lavender! Lavender is an extraordinary plant and has much value to help us in our daily lives.

Terrie along with her sister Jeanette are practicing Yoga and attaining teacher training. Yoga is something that is powerful and wonderful for the mind, spirit and body. It is also something everyone can do at their own level while keeping the body and soul supple and renewed. These class offerings will arrive this Fall and be held at Empower U studio.
