Shop Profile: Although we are closed until further notice, here is the history of our small family business:
Stowell Galleries was founded in Harpers Ferry 1969. The House was built in 1908, with ongoing renovations by the current owners since 1972. Our Victorian rooms exhibit permanent collections, and featured collections by local & guest artists. We hold shows upon request that include art, music, food, & drink. For pagans we provide subtle services upon request. The “secretive” quality of alternative spirituality stems from traditional "underground" practices of self-preservation passed down from times when "puritan" intolerance would never allow such pan-ethnic arts to be held in public or private. Times have changed, and are still changing, as they have not entirely erased hundreds of years of oppression. We invite you to join us in helping to bring about better understanding of Nature and ourselves through more enlightened & diverse spirituality.

Directions: 1) Follow Rt 340 to Harpers Ferry, WV2) Turn @ Traffic Lights, Washington Street (Bolivar) turn is opposite from NPS Entrance to Park3) Follow Washington Street through Bolivar past Town Hall to Harpers Ferry. Pass Kings Pizza up the hill to Appalachian Trail Headquarters, on the right Stowell Galleries is adjacent. You will see our Grey 3-story Block House with white porches, black roof and gardens. 4) Turn Right after you pass Stowell Galleries on McDowell to go around the block.5) Turn Right on to Fillmore Street and come around the back of our property to the gravel driveway.6) Park near the gravel driveway or proceed right down it to our Circle Driveway.
