Nutritional Counseling

Offered by: Selina Rifkin

[A WitchVox Sponsor]

Located in: Trumbull, Connecticut

Skill/Service Details: With every news show, news paper and talk show offering advice on what you should be eating, it's hard to imagine why you should pay for nutritional counseling. Here are some reasons:

These are one-size-fits-all ideas about food. The attractive and chipper person on the TV will tell you that omega-3s are good, or that you should avoid this or that. But do YOU need to take omega-3? Listen to a lot of this sort of advice and you will be up to your neck in supplements in no time.

They understate the difficulty of eating truely healthy food. After watching or reading, you are supposed to feel good and rush out to prepare a healthy meal, but there is no real support if you have a question or problem.

The presenter must edit or shorten their information to fit into sound bytes and column lengths. This means that vital information is often left out.
They are often wrong. Just because someone is in print or on TV doesn't mean they have the most current information.

Selina is commited to providing not only the latest and most up-to-date information, she will be there for you when you can't figure out how to cook that free-range steak, help you find appealing and easy recipes, and even help you find quality food in your area. She will guide you through food choices and help you decide which supplements are a must, and which nutritents can be obtained through food.

My policy is delicious, real food. Not the kind of food that comes with the disclaimer "healthy food really can taste great!, " but real food that you actually want to eat.

Rates: Sliding scale: $50 to $100 per hour. A series of six sessions is recommended. The first is generally long 1 1/2 to 2 hours, but later sessions are short, about 1/2 hour.
