Cranio-Sacral Therapy

Skill/Service Details: Cranio-Sacral is a light touch therapy that never uses more than five grams of pressure, about the weight of a nickel. Headaches – including migraines – are particularly responsive to Cranio-Sacral work. CS can actually be done while a person has a migraine in process, something that is not recommended with standared massage. This therapy is highly valuable after any impact type injury. Chronic problems are sometimes the result of a forgotten accident; for example, falling on the ice, or tripping on stairs.
CS is recommended for:
TMJ
stress
chronic pain
Cranio-Sacral is done fully clothed on a table. The client lies quietly while the therapist touches different areas of the body with very light contact. The sensations are very subtle and the client may or may not be aware of the changes being created by the therapist. It is not uncommon for the client to fall asleep during a treatment. Cranio-Sacral is a gentle treatment that combines well with other types of bodywork therapies.
