Skill/Service Details: Tai Chi is a traditional martial art that is also a moving meditation. The movments are gentle, slow and flowing, and this means the injuries that can accompany more strenuous exercise regimens, such as strains and pulled muscles, can be avoided. Nothing is ever forced. For health, mild exercise performed daily is preferable to demanding exercise that is performed occasionally. Letting go of tension that we carry of which we are not aware can take months or years but produces a new feeling of calm and well being. Consistent Tai Chi practice allows the student to remain relaxed not just after an activity that has tired him out, but all the time.
Tai Chi is an excellent choice for those who must exercise but must not overtax him or herself. Because Tai Chi focuses awareness on the body, it is hard to get carried away and get hurt as a result. People with heart trouble, joint injuries, and chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia can all benefit from Tai Chi’s integrative approach.
