Breastfeeding Information and Support

Skill/Service Details: I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Certified Lactation Counselor, and La Leche League Leader. I loved nursing my own children and I want every mom who wants to breastfeed to be successful. I provide mother to mother breastfeeding support and information by phone, email, monthly meetings, and home visits.
My first experience helping moms and babies breastfeed was as a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor 15 years ago. Currently I am the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Coordinator for the Lee\Hendry\Glades County WIC Program where I train other moms to provide breastfeeding support, oversee the program and provide breastfeeding support to WIC clients.
My experience includes breastfeeding management, latch support, babies with breastfeeding challenges (i.e. cleft lip/palate, NICU, failure to thrive, slow weight gain, low birth weight , downs syndrome, etc) , breastfeeding multiples, relactation, breastfeeding the adopted baby, milk supply management, teaching classes and provide on site training to childcare providers on proper handling and storage of breast milk.
I teach massage and hand/manual expression of milk in all of my classes. I am familiar with all types of breast pumps and breastfeeding aids and can assist with choosing a pump and/or help a mother and baby decide if a breastfeeding aid is appropriate for their situation.
Rates: Phone calls, monthly meetings, and email support are free, Breastfeeding Classes: $20.00, Home visits: Lee County $50.00 per visit, Outside Lee County $75.00 per visit , Childcare Provider training $50.00
