At my clinic, Jones Bridge Animal Hospital, the staff always sets aside time on a puppy's first visit to chat with the family about the breed they've chosen -- what kind of special care it will require, certain medical issues specific to the breed, etc. As a technician, it is always difficult to see a family learn that they may have gotten more than they had bargained for!
Pick-A-Puppy was designed for people who have decided that they want to own a canine companion, but just don't know where to begin. By choosing to use us, you will get an in-home consultation with a veterinary technician who will provide you with helpful, professional information on which breed and/or character type of dog will be best in your home.
You may have done some independent research already. That is wonderful! But remember, almost any book with a specific breed on the cover is probably going to be partial to that breed. All dogs are not "good with children, " "easy to maintain, " and "easily trained." We will be up-front and honest with our opinions and professional advice. Dog ownership is a wonderful responsibility but it's not to be entered into lightly! We always recommend doing some of your own research, including spending some time with any breed you are considering.

Dog and Puppy obedience training is offered at $25/per session. Phone consultations are also available for $14.99/per call.
