Skill/Service Details: I make hancrafted wooden wands on a small Arabic-style bow lathe. I make both turned and handcarved wands from locally available woods (unless you want a wand in an exotic wood, which I can get) . My wands are priced according to the type of wood and method of crafting (whether turned on my lathe or hand carved) , and I offer many designs to choose from. I use natural beeswax and linseed or olive oil as a fininsh. I can make a single wand in up to three different woods, and I use natural dyes when color is desired. the maximum length of a wand I can turn on my lathe is 16''. I also offer the option of the new trend in 'cores'--send me a small feather, tuft of fur, or other meaningful object, and I can insert it into the wand. I do not pre-craft, but prefer to make each wand to your specifcations. Just send me a picture (with measurements) , and I will try to make it for you. If you want the shavings from the wand, I will send those to you. The wand will come wrapped in paper in a cardboard shipping box. Soon I will provide wand boxes. I take great pride in my work, and I assure you that I will craft it as though it were my own. I perform no spells or incantations over the wands, but i do recomend that you cleanse and bless it prior to use. I will be setting up a website soon. Be patient!!!
Send me a drawing of the wand you want, in color via email, and I'll get back to you with the rest. DO NOT send me your mailing address until I ask for it. Please, that is to protect your privacy.
Rates: Traditional wand woods (such as holly, oak, maple, etc) are $10, plus the price for the method of crafting. Turned is an additional $5 dollars, whereas handcarved is an additional $10. Exotic woods (such as ebony, rosewood, lignum vitae) are priced according to how much I spent on the wood. I never charge for exotic woods more than what I spent on it. Cores are an additional $1, colors are $1 dollar, and embellishments (crystals, feathers, leather, etc) are priced according to what they cost me. Shipping is based on weight, through ordinary mail. I only begin crafting the wand when I recieve payment ( I use the money to buy the materials) . Returns are guarunteed up to one month, afterward, sales are final. Sorry, but at the moment I can only accept cash or check.
