Handfasting Cords

Skill/Service Details: My cords take 2-4 weeks to make. I begin them at either the New or Full Moon and finish them at the next Full Moon. Cords consist of three (or more) cords/ribbons/trims which are braided together in Circle while an Elemental Blessing is chanted, infusing the Cord with blessings and protection.
A Handfasting Cord can be custom made for your Ceremony or chosen from among ones I already have finished- check my store for current availability.
You may wish to have more than one Cord, I have performed Ceremonies using six three-cord Cords and have heard of up to 9 or 12 being used. I have also seen a Ceremony where several Cords were attached to a wooden ring and then tied around the embracing couple one at a time as part of their vows. Items that you may want to incorporate include: prayer box (es) for locks of hair and other love tokens, locket (s) , various meaningful charms/symbols, feathers, gemstones, beads, pendant (s) , pin (s) , etc.
Please have ideas for the colors of the braid and charm (s) or other item (s) to hang from it in mind. I do a blessing of all my cords prior to use. All cords come with a certificate stating how and what was entailed in creation and my signature for authenticity.
Here are some of the meanings attached to the colors:
Red - will, love, vigor, strength, fertility, courage, health, vigor, and passion. Also associated with: Mars, Tuesday, and Scorpio.
Orange - encouragement, adaptability, stimulation, attraction, plenty, kindness, passion, liveliness, kindness, and encouragement. Also associated with: the Sun, Mars, Mercury, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
Yellow - attraction, charm, confidence, balance, harmony, knowledge, learning, concentration, comfort, and joy. Also associated with: Mercury, Wednesday, Gemini, and Leo.
Green - fertility, luck, prosperity, nurturing, beauty, health, love, growth, energy, charity, rejuvenation, healing, plants/herbs, success, and companionship. Also associated with: Venus, Mercury, Friday, Wednesday, and Taurus.
Dark Blue - for a safe journey, longevity, and strength
Blue - for a safe journey, longevity, sacredness, patience, devotion, loyalty, peace, wisdom, honor, understanding, health, truth, sincerity, and strength. Also associated with: Moon, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, Monday, Friday, Saturday, Thursday, Libra, and Sagittarius.
Light Blue - tranquility, understanding, patience, health
Purple/Violet - healing, health, strength, power, progress, sacredness, sentimentality, wisdom, spiritual protection and healing, protection, and amplification of other energies. Also associated with: Jupiter, Thursday, and Sagittarius.
Black - strength, empowerment, wisdom/vision, success, pure love, and banishing negativity. Also associated with: Saturn, Saturday, Scorpio, and Capricorn.
White - spiritual purity, truth, serenity, peace, devotion, strength of spirit, healing, consecration, the Full Moon, protection, creativity, and may be substituted for any other color. Also associated with: the Moon, Monday, and Cancer.
Gray - balance, neutrality, used in erasing, canceling, neutralizing, and return to the universe without repercussion. Also associated with: Moon, Monday, and Virgo.
Pink - love, unity, honor, truth, romance, happiness, healing, familial or emotional love (rather than sexual) , friendship, unselfishness, and spiritual healing. Also associated with: Venus and Friday.
Brown - for healing, skills and talent, nurturing, home and hearth, the Earth, grounding, concentration, care, love for animals, and respect for the Earth. Also associated with: the Moon, Venus, Saturn, Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Capricorn.
Silver - for creativity, inspiration and vision, protection, the Moon, values, the unconscious mind, and female energy. Also associated with: the Moon, Monday, and Gemini.
Gold - for unity, longevity, prosperity, strength, activity, intelligence, the Sun, happiness, unity, the conscious mind, and male energy. Also associated with: the Sun, Sunday, and Leo.
Rates: My Handfasting Cords start at $25 each. Prices vary depending on the materials and amount of effort that goes into each one.
