Skill/Service Details: Ok, this is a skill.
I play the upright (string) bass, the electric bass, and the MIDI bass.
MIDI=Musical Instrument Digital Interface, whereby, in my case, the plucked bass notes map to sampled (actual recorded piano, organ, cello, etc. notes) and/or synthesizer sounds, which can be mixed with the real bass guitar notes. Yes, it's bizarre and fun to layer the notes.
I can play along with nearly any kind of music (except disco or rap with too loud a beat) .
Lately I've been going to an Open Mic Blues Jam held every other Wednesday evening at the Beach Cove Lounge & Restaurant in Chesapeake Beach, MD (link: http://www.beachcoverestaurant.com/ ) ; jam is from 8pm-12:30am, all instruments & skill levels welcomed.
The music is sometimes loud, so bring your earplugs if you've got sensitive ears. And if you plan to talk...bring a notepad and a pen. ;-)
Rates: Not planning on charging...for fun and creation of music only!
