Bagpipe lessons

Skill/Service Details: Mac - Tire of Skye Pipes and Drums was founded by piper, Mary Beth Goforth in August 2007. Under the direction of Pipe Major Suzanne "Aden" Lumb and Pipe Sergeant Nate Lorenz, the band has grown in a short period from a few interested pipers to a band of seven pipers, five drummers and six students. The band prides itself as a teaching band, focusing on the proper techniques of becoming a well-developed piper/drummer. No experience is necessary and students range between 7 and 70 years old. Currently a performance band, they plan to become a competitive band within the next few years. The band also focuses on introducing more modern tunes and lesser-known sets to the public, making bagpipe music more enjoyable for both piper and listener. Mac-Tire of Skye Pipes and Drums holds a rehearsal every Thursday night at 6104 Taylor Ranch Rd NW . Students are taught from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Band practice is from 7:35 - 9:00 pm. Students are encouraged and welcome to stay and watch.
Rates: No charge if you intend to participate with the band and become a band member. Instruction for those who intend to be solo pipers and not participate with the band, there will be a hourly charge of $25.00.
