Bodywork (massage therapy~energy work)

Skill/Service Details: Prior to becoming a massage therapist, I worked with children first as a preschool teacher, then as a nanny for six years. When the child I cared for began school full time I went to massage school and have been an ABMP certified massage therapist since 1998. In 1999 I began working with a chiropractor, Dr Trish Coughlin-Baitinger of Radiance Chiropractic Healing Center; who helped me to identify what I unconsciously did during sessions with clients--intuitive energy work. My healing sessions are nurturing and unique, combining traditional massage techniques with energy work and intuitive guidance. It is this combination that sets my work apart, allowing the client the opportunity for complete healing.
I have had formal training in: therapeutic Swedish massage, deep tissue, neuromuscular therapy (St. John Method) , craniosacral therapy (Upledger) , myofascial release, active isolated stretching (Mattes Method) , Brain therapy for children and adults (Dr. Barry Gillespie) , frequency balancing, and Tera Mai Reiki and Seichem (Master Levels) .
During any session you, the client, are in charge. It is your body and your money you are spending. Before beginning any session we will determine what you most want worked on during that session. For example: if your goal is stress relief/relaxation I might suggest a full body massage, energy work, craniosacral therapy session or a combination of those; or if your goal is to get rid of pain in a particular area, my suggestion would be a combination of techniques focusing on possible causes of your pain. Children with ADHD respond really well to Brain Therapy and cranio-sacral therapy.
Most Sessions are a combination of a few different techniques. Some clients like to experience one technique or another on it's own, either because their doctor has suggested it or they've heard about it's benefits. The choice is yours.
During your session (with me or any other therapist) if at any time you feel uncomfortable, or pain of any kind, please let me know immediately; this can be valuable information to me as a therapist. Some massage techniques can be uncomfortable, but they shouldn't ever be out and out painful...causing you to clench your teeth and curl your toes, basically creating more work elsewhere in your body.
Every body reacts differently to pressure and different combinations of techniques. What works for your sister may or may not work for you. Therapists can not read your mind.
