Existential Spiritual Couseling

Skill/Service Details: “Existential spiritual counseling” refers both to my views as a pagan-American with a philosophy degree, and to the techniques I employ during the sessions, which are borrowed from existential therapy (in that a client usually needs to find the courage to navigate his or her own existential crisis, and also needs the tools and support to do so, which is a reason for seeking this type of session) and the Socratic truth-finding method of questioning the client, basing follow-up questions on previous answers, until he or she says inner truths that he or she didn’t know he or she contained.
In the interest of disclosure and benefit to the client, the client is made aware of my personal philosophy and theology before beginning a session or series of sessions.
Having mentioned my own views several times now, it is important to state that I make every effort to be as objective and nonbiased as possible during these sessions, and to look at a client’s situation through the lense of their own belief system. I have counciled more traditional Christian clients, in addition to agnostic, atheist, and pagan clients, although most of my clients were agnostic (which means they were still trying to develop awareness of what path their spiritual journey was taking) .
There are certainly more traditional services available for many religions which are very appropriate for most people seeking spiritual counseling. Some examples of this are the traditional role of Catholic priests (which is still a part of their service) , and classes with Wiccan priestesses. When a client is looking for a guide without necessarily knowing what thier path is yet, they often come to me.
Rates: The fee for this services is $35 per one-hour session with a $50 two-hour introductory information-gathering session and preliminary analysis.
