Court Spells It Out To Male Witch

Author: Natalie Tkaczuk Sikora Source: Herald Sun (AU)

Title: COURT SPELLS IT OUT TO MALE WITCH
A high priestess of Melbourne's pagan community appeared in court on Monday seeking a restraining order against a male witch who allegedly fired a gun through her children's bedroom window.
Elizabeth Collins told the Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court shots were fired at her home just a day after Ronald Sommerling allegedly threatened to destroy her and blow up her house.

"A minister of Melbourne's Christian community appeared in court on Monday seeking a restraining order against a male Christian who allegedly fired a gun through her children's bedroom window ... "
I love to see how these things look when someone else's religion is substituted for the Pagan one. Sounds ludicrous, doesn't it?
If there was any reason for the author of this piece to mention the individuals' religious persuation (other than to use that "really cool" pun -- court "spells" it out to male witch) , it should have been stated in the news item, otherwise it's a non sequitur, and just plain bad journalism.

Hmm, male witch, a non-sequitor in many popular made for TV fantasies, and so a good sensationalist headline?
There's one sometimes self-proclaimed witch not recently seen in many pagan communities, since I spread some information about her a few years ago, developed in part with help of medical professionals (which she also is, after a career change possibly chosen to help hide and manipulate her likely never to be resolved problems) .
Let's see... multiple politically correct substance abuser, ETOH, food, nicotine, and Rx drugs (with good skills to manipulate and shop MD's for scripts) .
8 of 9 DSM-IV critera for Borderline Personality Disorder (very difficult to document clinically without a mix of long term medical and up close and personal review of patterns and habits) .
History inclusive of child abuse.
Cyclic violent episodes, related to both BPD and drunken states, including reckless discharge of firearms.
That's clearly all caused by her being a witch. Ooops, not a male witch, so it's entirely different. {gag} Not nearly as good headlines. Psychiatric issues behind the vast majority of career criminals couldn't possibly be the main issue, as that's not good headline material. Maybe the fact that she's an intelligent, creative person with advanced education, despite a psych condition usually only "cured" if by suicide, and that usually only if done before age 40 (she's slightly older) , makes for better headlines than the more common semi-literate convicts mostly ignored in front page headlines?
But, that violates the American religion of corporate profits, as headlines neither deal with individual medical issues, nor focus attention in ways that legitimately protect others, without violating privacy boundaries beyond what's useful to alert others about a predatory pattern and history. Australia, congratulations on copying the worst of American economic whorish social trends.
Yup, gotta be caused by being an evil weirdo witch. And, male witches? That wouldn't make a marketable Elizabeth Montgomery statue. Even if most people knew the relationship of besom to broom.

Someone is venturing into mysticisms without an adequate foundation, and probably thinks it Unwiccan for another to go to the Police. What charges should be laid against The Goddess?
Let that circle be broken, for it is badly forged.
I draw the High Priestess Inverted. What does this say of the matter?

It does not appear that religion or witchcraft was involved in the abuse or their relationship, such as it were. I just don't see why it should be mentioned. On a side note - where did the media get the idea that witch is used to designate a female unless it is prefaced with the word male?
