Title: WITCHES FEAR SEX MONSTER

Victorian witches are worried that notorious sex offender Robin Fletcher is giving them a bad name.

The Pagan Awareness Network said yesterday it feared an extended supervision order on Fletcher might not be enough to prevent him re-offending.

Fletcher, 49, agreed to a five-year supervision order when he appeared at the Supreme Court on Monday.

He has to be released from jail in a fortnight after completing his maximum sentence for sex offences against teenage girls he turned into slaves in the name of witchcraft.

A report to the court from Corrections Victoria said Fletcher maintained that his sexual offending was part of his religion and he would continue with Wiccan practices.

Nothing To Fear Brothers And Sisters Jun 2nd. at 10:50:43 am EDT

Those who cast blame on all of us because of one perverted individuals actions are not worth thinking about! Do not feel the need to apologise, do not show weakness. WE are nothing like the one who commited those despicable acts, therefore it is not our duty to feel fear.

I think that in this thread there is a remarkable "missing" piece.I believe that this person[and all others like him]will not "walk free" from thier actions.Niether will thier victims be forever hopelessly "ruined" by thier experiance. Once upon a time I heard of something called "The Rede",I have a notion that this is important to remember. For to thee return's the power 3 times 3.... so mote it be!

Forgiveness is for those who ask. He hasn't asked.

I'll respect others' right to their point of view. Because I do believe in rehabilitation, and in second chances.

People can change. Sometimes they do. Mostly, they don't. As far as I can tell, the only chance this creep wants is the chance to do it again.

For my own point of view, I say, keep him locked up. And throw away the key.

book that I know of that espouses to be "Wiccan Literature" that may be the inspiration for this person's behavior. This book being the most dangerous book that anyone just beginning to practice Wicca could ever discover if you ask me. The book to which I am speaking of course being written by the notorious Gavin and Yvonne Frost.

I do highly advise that no one ever perform any of the activities in the books of either of these authors, especially seeing as how both these Authors have been virtually disowned by the entire Neo-Pagan community for the things their book suggest Wiccans do.

If Australia Has A Law Similar To A Kansas One... May 31st. at 7:56:02 pm EDT

Riona Twilight (Spearfish, Oregon) - Email Me

There is/was a Kansas law that provided for civil commitment of people that were likely to re-commit sexually violent crimes. This was a non-criminal procedure which therefore did not violate any of the rights of Due Process which is part of the USA's 14th Amendment.

If Australia has a similar law on the books? All I can say is USE IT.

To read more on the US Supreme Court Case that decided such an act legal see the link below.

"A report to the court from Corrections Victoria said Fletcher maintained that his sexual offending was part of his religion and he would continue with Wiccan practices."

Usually, when someone asks forgiveness, they acknowledge that they have done something wrong and at least attempt to make amends.

He does not acknowledge that anything he did was wrong. Therefore, he has not asked forgiveness. What he has asked for seems to me to be an open hand to do it again.

I don't care for arguments of "who is/is not a member of Religion X." Bottom line-- anyone can call themselves anything they want, and there's not much that can be done about it.
However, the only definition under which he can be considered Wiccan is the defamatory one set by certain reactionary elements of society.

And I do wonder if Wiccans practicing according to that body of dogma accepted as "Wiccan" could get away with suing him for defamation of character.

"Fletcher was jailed in 1996 after pleading guilty to child prostitution, sexual penetration of a child under 16, indecent acts with a child, and perverting the course of justice.

"His plea hearing was told two 15-year-old victims were lured into sex through the use of black magic, hypnotism, and the claim their illicit activities were pagan rituals."

Well, my crystal ball is in the shop right now, so I don't know what he actually did. He sounds, however, like a classic creep straight out of the stereotypes. According to this, I can't even begin to extend compassion toward him as "confused" or "stupid."

Is he hurting too?? Probably. Someone has to be severely damaged to do something like this. The guy who fed me a similar line spent his childhood being beaten, starved, and degraded.

Do I care?? Not really. At some point, it became his responsibility to heal, deal, or pay the consequences of allowing his damage to make him a willful damager.

Yes, he has served his time. He also appears to have blatantly stated that he will offend again.

I'm not a Wiccan, so I can say this with a clear conscience. I'd like everyone who thinks he ought to be given a second chance to participate in binding him from his former activities.

If he has no intention of re-offending, then it's not a violation of his will. And if intends to re-offend, as far as I'm concerned, he's forfeited his right to exercise free will.

Oh, yeah. I'd like to add one other condition to his release. If he re-offends, I'd like to see him sentenced to death by stoning. The victims may cast the first stones.

"Fletcher refused to complete a sex offenders' treatment program in jail and was denied parole.

He will remain under supervision by the Department of Justice and the Adult Parole Board for five years after being freed from prison."

The Opus Paradox, that he's served his time, and should not be released as on Parole, is a benchmark of Jurisprudence, that has not been adequately addressed since the outbreak of Legal Menningitis.

Dr. Menninger was a Psychiatrist, who protested that Criminals were guilty only of Errors of Judgement, and should receive Treatment, rather than Punishment, and this began the era of "Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity," and of people pleading Not Guilty, that they could suffer worse than would guilty men. Those treatments were even less Humane that incarceration, until 1980, when Psychiatry had to stop using their inmates as Guinney Pigs, and the mad-houses had to close their doors.

Reagan was blamed for the Homeless Problem, but those patients were actually released due to the events of the last of the Carter Years, and it was an improvement. Most of the symptoms displayed by the Homeless were the result of their treatments.

Menninger's Mistake, was in thinking that Medicine was available for treatment of Judgement. Is there accounting for Taste, and does this mean there should be? Well, the thing to do, is to define the basic courtesies, by which we shouldn't allow our neighbors such liberties as murdering our own children, and allow the Not Guilty to demonstrate, to the content of an Insurance Company, that their Judgement won't be expensive. We can then leave our Prisons as Charitable Institutions, for those whose proper treatment we'd rather not allow ourselves.

How about a 13 yo Wiccan High Priestess wear a Wire, to justify her use of Deadly Force?

He Has Done His Time May 31st. at 12:14:02 pm EDT

Dennis Deal (Nazareth, Pennsylvania) - Email Me

He has now the opportunity to prove himself fit for society. declaring an intention does not a bad guy make.. It does make him a creep without a doubt.

He has made it harder on himself by making such statements. If he cann't help himself as he has said. Will not get nor willing recieve help.

Then he has become a menace to society.

However we must give this person a chance to show if what he has said is mere words or actual intentions of becoming an action.

It is the paradox of modern society that a stated intentions can only be prosectuted when turned into actions.

Osama could talk about blowing up buildings. It's when he put the plans into motion did the stated intentions then become illegal. And that's the same as this creep.

Where do they get the flaming idea that we fear him? He should fear us! He is a predator that is misusing a religion for his own gain. Just as any xtian pred that claims God ordained him to do it. I'll bet they wouldn't be so quick to sensationalize this if he was xtian.
I wish for once, that preds like these could be revealed, not for the trappings, but for what they do, which harms more than just the victims in his grasp, which has very little to do with religion except as a dodge.

He's Admitted He Can't Help Himself. May 31st. at 11:38:45 am EDT

Lora (Leominster, Massachusetts) - Email Me

If he can't prevent himself from re-offending, and has no will to do so, why on earth should the community not help him to learn to control himself until he is fit to associate with other people? What does prison exist for, if not to protect law-abiding citizens from sociopathic monsters?

Yes, I know prisons generally do not accomplish this goal and in fact turn people into more alienated, more monstrous creatures than they already are. That is an argument for prison reform, not for allowing the monsters to roam.

There exist hormone medications that can prevent him from re-offending, and as a rape survivor I have NO objections to castration of known rapists. If I had my druthers, he certainly would be locked into a man-shaped wooden cage and burned alive, as Caesar described the Gauls doing. Nailing his navel to a tree and forcing him to run around it till he gutted himself would be another acceptable option. This sicko decided he wanted to live by the sword, so be it. It is certainly a pity that the law does NOT allow for the punishment he so richly deserves, and it is yet another demonstration of how little our society values women.

Let's stop and think a moment.
1.This guy is a creep.
2. This guy has done very bad things.
3. This guy was caught, convicted, and served the maximum sentence under the law for his crime.
4. This guy has stated he might reoffend in the future.

Those statements are true. This one is false.
5. We should keep this guy in prison for life because we don't like him.

He served his time, every last day of it, to the maximum allowed by law. Do we live under laws, or are we at the whims of emotion? Harm none extends to people we don't like as well as those we approve of. Personally I think Lay and Skilling should be strangled with their own intestines, but the law doesn't allow that. And how about Abramov? He bribed (I was going to write corrupted, but I think he was far too late for that) dozens of Congresscritters and bilked his supposed customers out of millions of dollars, do you want to just keep on punishing him forever even after he gets out of prison?

Do we allow a person to have a life after prison, where he has been punished, sometimes for extended periods. Or do we just keep pounding him forever and ever because we don't like what he did?

Just think for a minute.

Opus

If a decoy were to have this creep break just one of the provisions of his parole, he could be sent back to prison for a very long time.
