Judge To Rule On Malicious ‘Satanic Abuse’ Prosecution Case

Author: CBC News   Source: CBC News (Canada)

Title: JUDGE TO RULE ON MALICIOUS PROSECUTION CASE

A judge is set to rule Tuesday on a $10-million malicious prosecution lawsuit launched by members of an extended foster family originally accused of ritualistic satanic sex abuse.

Twelve members of the extended foster family are suing Saskatoon police Supt. Brian Dueck – a corporal at the time of the case – therapist Carol Bunko-Ruys and two Crown prosecutors, Matthew Miazga and Sonja Hansen.

It Is Indeed All Too Familiar Dec 30th. at 3:28:34 pm EST

I recall the McMartin preschool case.

I also recall another case in Orange County, California in which someone was forced to leave a job and move out of state because of other outlandish accusations which nearly got out-of-control. This person who had fallen from the good graces of his former church, decided to leave before any more accusations came forth. That one never made the papers, of course.

Yes, something needs to be done about malicious prosecutions.

In the McMartin case, testimony included stories of mysterious underground rooms and tunnels which were quickly proven to not exist. Yet the persecutors pressed on.

Yes, something needs to be done. Something that will let prosecutors know that they will have probems if they do not back off of a case in which the evidence does not fit.

McMartin Case Dec 30th. at 1:08:47 pm EST

by JB+ (New Orleans) - wc_xemail

The famous (or infamous) McMartin Preschool case lasted for over 9 years. The famliy and employees were exonerated of all charges. And, they had to file for bankruptcy and now live in near poverty.

And guess who the prosecuting attorney was? Marcia Clark, of OJ Simpson fame!

What was the basis for the SRA (Satanic Ritual Abuse) investigation and allegations? A bi polar woman was trying to keep her ex-husband from having visitation rights with their son. The stories (lies) were so titilating, that they latched onto the McMartin Preschool, where they stayed, and ended. And, the prosecutors' office knew this.

Kinda makes me wonder about OJ. No, no it doesn't.

Note The Time Frame, Folks. This Isn't New. Dec 30th. at 12:40:43 pm EST

This case originally occurred in 1991 -- the height of the Satanic Panic, when "recovered memories, " and the stories of children led by "counselors" who wanted to believe (just about anything nasty) were accepted UNCONDITIONALLY.

By the same token, although some of this stuff may still be going on today (since Jeremiah Films, et al don't seem to be filing for bankruptcy) , in the mainstream, much cooler heads prevail.

But the lesson remains: Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.

Appalled! Dec 30th. at 12:08:57 pm EST

It really amazes me that in this day and age, stories that are made up by children are not really looked in to.

They have destroyed the lives of so many people because of their lies. You cannot turn back time when the children grow up and recant their stories. Its a modern day witch hunt!

This IS A Modern Day Witch Trial Dec 30th. at 11:47:34 am EST

by Ahroun (New England) - wc_xemail - Web

Wow!, This is Sooo much like the witch trials of yester-year. The children made up stories for fun and as a result, people were prosecuted, jailed and convicted.

I find it absolutely apauling that people today actually beleive there are groups out there, satanic or not, who sacrifice babies. HELLO!!!!, How can ANYONE get away with that? Unless you belong to some major underground organization like, ohh....say...The Nights of Columbus or the Masons who can mass conspire and rid of all evidence, the average evildoer would be exposed in a matter of days and caught within a week after that.

Of course Jeraldo also has contributed to the stupidity of the world. The fact people beleive this stuff I think in most part is due to the mass quantities of false ex-occultist christian televangelist shows present as guest. You have these people who claim to be ex-satanist and ex-witches coming on these shows and talking about the rituals they were "forced" to partake in na dhow they were worshiping satan.

I have one thing to say to this, there IS NO SUCH THING as an ex-witch or ex-satanist. If you claim to have been a witch and are now a born again then you NEVER were a witch. You are nothing more than a christian who read a book or two on witchcraft, bought a hunting knife at the sporting goods shop and called it an athame.

Only Doing Their Job? Dec 30th. at 9:23:57 am EST

by Raven-touched (Ship of Fools) - wc_xemail

Their job included believing some of the most outrageous stories told outside of a Hammer film festival while ignoring pertinent evidence re: the credibility of the accusers?

That's either incredible chutzpah or incredible stupidity, and I'm pretty sure that chutzpah is illegal in Canada.
