Guatemala Announces New University Based On Ancient Mayan Knowledge

Author: Sergio De Leon, Associated Press Source: Tampa Bay Online (FL)

Title: GUATEMALA ANNOUNCES NEW UNIVERSITY BASED ON ANCIENT MAYAN KNOWLEDGE
Guatemalan academics will create a university dedicated to rescuing and developing the ancient knowledge of the country's majority Mayan cultures, the nation's president said Friday.
President Oscar Berger and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Rigoberta Menchu presented the still-developing plans for the Maya University, or "Mayab' Nimatijob'al" in the Quiche tongue.
Berger said recognition of "the immense spiritual and cultural richness of the Mayan people" would help Guatemala build "a multiethnic, multicultural and multilingual state."

This is good.I think this primitave thinking modern society could learn a lot from a primitave progessive society.I follow the Thirteen Moon Calender a bit.It makes a lot more sense, I think the world should go to it.For more info. go to Planet Art Network at www.tortuga.com.
The Gregorian calender has put us out of sync. with the universe. The Mayan is much more accurate. After all, would you use a ruler with markings that vary? One inch is in a different spot every time you use it?
This has a lot to do with the sickening state the world is in now.Check it out-quit fighting-and visit the Guatamala thing.
Peace, love, and all the funky jazz, Blessings- Ram

I want to go! It would be a great opportunity to learn about another part of my heritage, and I'm sure that my husband would love to go as well since it is also his.
I hope that they can get it off the ground!
