Mayan Priests To Purify Site After Bush Visit

Author: Juan Carlos Llorca, AP   Source: iwon news

Title: PRIESTS TO PURIFY SITE AFTER BUSH VISIT

Mayan priests will purify a sacred archaeological site to eliminate "bad spirits" after President Bush visits next week, an official with close ties to the group said Thursday.

"That a person like (Bush), with the persecution of our migrant brothers in the United States, with the wars he has provoked, is going to walk in our sacred lands, is an offense for the Mayan people and their culture," Juan Tiney, the director of a Mayan nongovernmental organization with close ties to Mayan religious and political leaders, said Thursday.

"...challenging the widespread belief that the United States has neglected the region...."
*Choke* To our shame, the only time our nation has shown any interest in Latin America is when some big investor has lost his shirt in a business venture. There is no interest in helping to develop economies with which we might have to compete. During the Eisenhower Administration, Vice President Richard Nixon received pretty much the same kind of welcome Bush is getting now. I'd say he' spitting into the wind.

Can We Invite The Mayan Priests Here? Mar 10th. at 10:26:39 am EST

Aritimi Morgana (RotterdamJct/Schdy/Scotia, New York) - Email Me

They can then spiritually fumigate the White House, the Capitol, both Houses of Congress, maybe even the CIA and FBI while they're at it. Then again, all that work might wear them out considering there's so much psychic sludge hanging around DC. Even my mom, who's a regular Catholic, agreed with the Mayans!! As for here, maybe on top of a cleansing and banishing, an exorcism should be done to send Darth Cheney back to that eternally hot place from whence he came.

Purification Needed.. Mar 10th. at 3:24:09 am EST

Witch of the Parchment (Tucson, Arizona) - Email Me

I feel truly sorry for those people. They have to endure the presence of a man they obviously don't really like, and he's going to be on their sacred ground. It's an insult and in very bad taste for Bush. Yet he hasn't done so much that is. Perhaps now he'll get the hint that his mere presence isn't tolerated and realize that as soon as he vacates the premises things have to be scrubbed down and re-santicified. That much trouble over one man, any man, should be enough to cause mortal embarassment at the very least. Yet I despair knowing he probably doesn't have that emotion. So I give my heart and blessing to those Mayans. I'd be right there helping scrubbing it all down and lighting incense if it wasn't for my lack of a passport.

What A Great Idea!!! Mar 9th. at 10:07:35 pm EST

genexs (Newburgh, New York) - Email Me - Web

Come on all you Pagan's and Wiccans! What the heck is wrong with us? We should all descend on the site of any Shrub appearance and perform a purification ritual! What hysterical press that would generate!

I may have to replace my keyboard.. I spewed when I read this.

I knew that Our Dear Leader President Bush was hated in South America, But really can any oner man be hated by so many? At this rate Former President Nixon may become a saint.

But on more serious note. This was more of an insult to the U.S. . While we may chuckle at the fool that is currently President. This "fool" has done everything to alienate every one in the world. His administration is starting to look like the Nixon Administration.

How many more of his cabinet will be taking a fall? And how many more countries are going to hate us long after he leaves office?

though I do wonder if the ritual can repilcated up here? Hmm? Probably would have to work with those S. American God/desses. I guess not.. Shame......

Not The Only Place Needing A Good Cleansing Mar 9th. at 5:32:55 pm EST

I wonder if we could invite some of them to help purify Washington DC? Or at least the White House? That place is long overdue!

Oh Yeah, Go Mayan People!!! Mar 9th. at 5:25:16 pm EST

Moro NightBird (Carbondale, Illinois) - Email Me

How fitting. Maybe I should burn the picture of Bush that he sent me in response to a letter I wrote at 13; How naive I was then....

Then I should purify the frame. The Mayan People are very wise...

Wonder what Bush thinks when he hears this....

Good idea. Unfortunately, it would take an awful lot of incense to smudge the entire U.S.

I choked on my coffee when I read this and almost fell out of my chair laughing, but then I relized this is someone's Truth and I really shouldn't take away from the meaning of the ceremony. I respect what they are doing and I just don't want to seem like I am mocking it.

Kinda scary and funny all at once.

Good Idea Mar 9th. at 12:19:27 pm EST

I can't imagine any kind of good fruit for anyone who's not a multinational extortionist following a visit by Our Illustrious Leader.

I think they've got a good idea. After two terms of the poison leaves dropped by the Bush, cleansing is certainly something we Americans should consider.

If it did nothing else, it would certainly make a statement.
