Satan Worship On The Rise

Author: PTI Source: Calcutta Telegraph (India)

Title: SATAN WORSHIP ON THE RISE
In the dark of the night, a mixed group of teenage boys and girls huddle together in a circle inside a secluded cemetery, holding hands and chanting invocations to Satan.
In the centre of the huddle is the skull of a monkey or a dog with the inscription “natas si dog” which in reverse reads “God is Satan”.
The popular belief here is that some youth took to satanic worship after watching a film called The Craft on television where the worshippers were “blessed” with supernatural powers.

Shadow Dragon (nashville, Tennessee) - Email Me

This is the only part of the article that the writer claims is fact.
*The youthful indulgence in witchcraft in the deeply religious Mizo society then confounded the powerful Presbyterian Church, which authorised research on the subject by the Aizawl Theological College faculty.
The report, submitted to the Aizawl district superintendent of police by Lalliansawta, a church elder working in the Presbyterian Synod office, quoted some of the boys and girls indulging in the worship as saying that, “We sat silently during devotional meetings in our home and worshipped Lucifer.” Lalliansawta, while submitting the report to the sp in 2002, requested the police to look into the devil worship as it was a “social menance” and could lead to a plethora of social evils.
That was how it began a few years back and no reports of violations of the laws or overt disruption of the society were heard then. Boys and girls interviewed by the four theologists were told that they sought the satan's powers to influence others. *
The rest is general speculation, rumors, and gossip of what goes on in “satanic rituals”. they can’t even tell you which skull they used. And there was no sex. Or crimes. I feel that this group of boys and girls may be pagans. There is a total lack of info on this article. No interview, no report. Just the writer’s imagination.

Its not uncommon - a fundamentalist church sets up camp in some 3rd world country and then suddenly everybody starts seeing Satan... Its exciting, its different, its attention grabbing and if your lucky, if you say and do as the church asks you get clean clothes, meds and food... If you don't go along with it; You get the crapped hounded out of you by the church who wants to 'save' you even if it kills you and your family who really needs the clothes, meds and food... Whose gonna argue with that... Sure I worship Satan, every night - every night right? and and and we sacrifice dogs and monkeys did I get that right sacrifice dogs and ....? Whose Satan again...?

towards the end of the article???

Arachne Priestess (Cookeville, Tennessee) - Email Me

What was the point of this article, except to perpetuate the rampant superstition that is so prevalent in India right now? Sensationalism, yes, but more to the point, this invites all sorts of accusations for the unexplained being heaped on innocent heads. Sigh, a fluff piece that again will probably instigate more violence against innocent people. Just sad, if we're honest.

Y'know something? The person who wrote the "in depth" article relating all those "facts" about "Satanism" did get at least one thing correct: God **is** "Satan".
Now wait a minute, keep reading. Since it is the belief of the majority of Christians that their God created everything in exsistence - including what we all like to call "Evil" - it stands to reason that their God also created the Entity known as "Satan".
Think about it: God created all of the angels, and one of God's angels decided to branch out on his own, and left Heaven for greener pastures and better opportunities - this "fallen" angel, by the way, is the one referred to in the Christian Bible as "Satan". Since "Satan" was once one of God's angels, and God created ALL of the various angels, then "Satan" was also created by God. Anything created by God IS God....and so God is "Satan"! Ain't logic wonderful? Of course, there are so many Christians who don't like to see logic used in this particular way, but I think I will let them deal with it.
One other thing: Since God is all-knowing and all-powerful, it means - logically - that God KNEW that this "fallen" angel would wind up as the "Evil Overlord" named "Satan". The Christian God created Evil. and can stop this "Satan" any time he wants to.........
