Exhibition Displays Characters From Roman Mythology

Title: EXHIBITION DISPLAYS CHARACTERS FROM ROMAN MYTHOLOGY
  An exhibition currently running in Seoul gives a rare opportunity for people to view ancient Roman art and artifacts relating to Roman mythology firsthand.
The exhibition, titled 'Men and Gods in the Rome of the Caesars,’ which will continue through Nov. 14 at Seoul Museum of History in downtown Seoul, is now displaying a collection of about 390 relics from ancient Rome dating back to the first century. Most of them are statues of men and gods but other items such as coins, jewelry, and pottery are also displayed, which give visitors a glimpse into how Romans lived during the period.
The exhibition consists of two main themes _ men and gods. At the entrance of the exhibition hall, the mask of Jupiter, one of the key exhibition items, greets visitors. The mask was believed to carry away all the bad spirits, and was usually hung at the top of the front gates of noble persons.
A variety of busts in the exhibit provide visitors clues to what the Romans considered to be an ideal face. All the other items such as coins, jewelry, vessels and lamps depict their way of life.
