Witchcraft Trial Accounts Could Fetch £76,000

Title: WITCHCRAFT TRIAL ACCOUNTS COULD FETCH £76,000
An account of the last major witchcraft trial in Scotland and the burning of its five victims, accused of sorcery by an 11-year-old girl, is expected to fetch up to £76,000 when it comes under the hammer as part of a set of four rare books on witchcraft at Christie's, in New York, next month.
In 1696, Christian Shaw, the daughter of the Laird of Bargarran, in Renfrewshire, accused three men and three women of “bewitching her” and “being in league with the Devil”.

Althought what happened in the past with the ignorance of other religions we have to remember that most that were executed were actually christians or jews. As with any religious artifact it is precious to those whom understand the herstory of that piece. I hope whom ever purchases a part of herstory that they keep it close to them because this is rare we have a glimspe into the true past of hatred and religious injustices. Some might look at this as a slap in the face. Let me ask you this, do you think that remembering slavery or wars based on god and country which still exist today that people have wrote about are just and fair? Should we not buy any, hear of the past from our for fathers and herstorical facts? I revel in the facts of the past because I see it for what it was, ignorance and intollerance but again don't we still have that today , we just call it some thing different, racism. I appericate every day those whom stood up for the rights we have today to practice our religion.
If I had the money I'd buy these books to. How many own the book called the Mallues Maleficarum ? I do and use it as a tool for research as this is a part of the past, good bad or indifferent.

Is it not warming to your heart to know that some book owner is going to make money off of the pain caused to others? What next, auction off the Auschwitz detainees logs? I am sorry, but it is quite similar to us as it would be to a death camp survivor or the families of those who did not. I know that if this were some mainstream religion that they would voice their outrage.
I am hoping that it is acquired by someone who will display it as an example of how people can be hostile to others based on the personal opinions of a select few, when others will not voice their outrage for fear of being targetted. Witch trials, Relocation camps, McCarthyism, The Peace Movement in the 60's and 70's.
Those who do not learn from history are destined to repeat it.
