Church Condemns Occult Move To The Area

Author: Lampeter Today Source: Lampeter Today

Title: CHURCH CONDEMNS OCCULT MOVE TO THE AREA
Church leaders have hit out after the boss of an occult centre who set up bogus Christian websites announced plans to open a base in Lampeter.
Magus Lynius Shadee, who has run similar organisations in northern France, says the centre in Lampeter will be his first in Britain. He told the Cambrian News that it would offer free courses to the local population about the organisation’s beliefs and would involve practical activities such as the use of ouija boards and seances.

Draken (Bronx, New York) - Email Me - Web

Let's see...one guy setting up bogus christianist websites vs. how many christianists setting up bogus Pagan and occult sites? I agree that it's a tasteless joke either way, but I also believe in quid pro quo. In fact, most of us do. "Rule of Three," anyone? If we were to believe that that's applicable to anyone on Earth regardless of who believes it or not, then all this is is an enforcement of that.

The University of Lampeter is a Theological college and yet there used to be Pagan rituals held at a sacred circle on site (im unsure if they are still going) Infact the first ever group ritual i attended was held in Lampeter and it holds a lot of fond memories for me. Stories like this, even if they are supposedly "jokes" are enough to stir up problems in what is a very small town and the author should have a bit more common sense.

First off, the hyphens on the web site article look like whomever posted this copy and pasted from a program that roduces such glitches. It shows how sloppy the web master or whomever is in allowing this to be on the web site.
Secondly, the idea of making "bogus Christian web sites" to lure Christians onto an occult site strikes me as a really malicious and foolish plan, something some young guy would do just to stir up trouble. You don't tease a ten foot long crocodile and not expect to get attacked.
I agree that this sounds a lot like some April Fool type " joke", however tasteless it appears. As for the name, It could be a smirking clue but for the fact that a number of people in the Pagan and other Occult communities and Goth communities take on alternate names. I am willing to believe that if the story is " legit" that the instigator is one of those manipulative sneaks that is trying to stir up trouble while they sit on the sidelines and watch in glee.
If he's a registered owner of a domain site, I'd bet a simple check would show the truth.
As for " Reaper", bear in mind this is a comedy like Scrubs and one of the producers is Kevin Smith, noted for ( among other things) "Clerks" and "Dogma.". While Smith is Catholic, in all honesty and fairness "Reaper" is not a " Christian" production, though it does use certain elements common to Christianity. " Reaper" plain and simple, is a dark comedy, not a fundy or evangelical Christian type show. "Touched by an Angel" was heavily Christian-centered and had a number of faults because of that.

Gotta be a tasteless April fools joke. Even the churchofwales.com "Occult" site has no actual content (just a pretty graphic) . Just this e-mail address:
enquiries@occultcentre.com
Maybe a question directed to this address would tell us wether or not this is a joke. If it is, and this e-mail is real, I imagine someone's mailbox is about to be flooded.

Elderhia (Far North Dallas, Texas) - Email Me

Really. Only someone who's a complete jerk would deliberately mislead people with a domain name like that. He won't last long, though; Google doesn't like sites whose keywords don't match their content, and his SEO rank is going to flatline once they catch him.
The churchofwales domain points to his site as reported. I didn't bother with the links to content because I had no interest in reading it right now, but he has a very nice graphic on his homepage.
The infantjesus link leads to a Catholic devotion, which is quite pretty in its own way and has a tiny little picture of the Pope down near the bottom.
That said: Mr. Shadee is a jerk, but he's just as entitled to practice his version of paganism as everyone else is. He can be a magus if he wants to be - or a witch, wizard, or warlock. He can try to convert people if he feels like it, and if he's being sneaky about it then all I can say is that lots of other churches are just as sneaky as he is and they're jerks just like he is too. He can create the First Church of Pagan Science if he so desires, teaching a way that has nothing to do with the standard religious deus ex machina belief system, but that doesn't mean he's getting it all wrong - it just means he's coming at Paganism from a different angle than some other denominations do.
We can complain about him because he's a jerk and because whoever did the article didn't clean it up after they reformatted it for online printing. But no one can complain that he's "not really a Pagan", or a Neo-Pagan, or a Magus. If he's making it up as he goes along, he can be and do whatever he wants.

That the name 'Mr Shadee' is a bit suspicious? Say it out loud. More evidence this is an April fools or similar attempt at humour.

I agree that it must be an April Fools day joke, even if a day late. I tried the links listed, and one came up an actual religious site: [Web LINK] (Though some of it is kind of scary: "The very qualities of child-like simplicity, trust, humility and dependancy that characterize children need be contemplated, accepted and eventually adopted in our own lives as we live and struggle in a world of challenges and contradictions." What? Dependency??? Right, this is definitely a domain for the sheeple.) And the other wouldn't open: [Web LINK]
And oh, those hyphens are so annoying!

on purpose, to avoid getting googled-almost like it's spam; the author is disguising the story somewhat. I think it's a dose of their own medicine, like how they have the tv show "Reaper" where this guy puts people back into the Christian hell to be tormented forever & it's 'just like the Bible says', no nuance no doubts, no conscience. They tried the 'Christian superhero' tv show, I don't know if that's doing well but I won't watch that crap-I know it's just preaching in disguise, like what the Christian man in the article says: "He said: “It is to do with religion, contrary to what he said. That would seem to be proved by the fact that he’s using Christian domain names to redirect to his site...."
I find it interesting that: "Mr Shadee said: “It leads people who may be searching for a direc-tion, rather to go through the wrong path, to come forward and look at something that’s practical. “The occult is the paranormal and the invisible world, to do with the fourth and fifth dimensions. “It’s nothing to do with religion or faith because that’s a load of c**p -that’s fictional. We don’t preach, we prove. If you want to see an ele-ment, we can show you an element. If you want to see an energy or a ghost, we can show you one.”

Holy crap I want to throttle this self proclaimed "Magus" so hard. Hopefully most people on all sides are intelligent enough to see this guy as a low-life prankster and not a representative of the occult community.

and i agree that the author cannot type. I'm not so sure about the guy making the websites either. From what i gathered from the article this guy is just teaching party games. Also i noticed he likes to title himself Magus. If you know what the title of Magus is associated with i applaud you, if not long story short it just means that guy is full of sh**. As for xtians stumbling upon his website boohoo i guess they should have gotten to the domain name first tough luck kid. Much love to ALL my Pagan brothers and sisters!

is it just me or could the author of this article not type for crap? basic jist? some occultist used fake domains with christian-type addresses to lure unsuspecting christians to occult themed websites to show these searching souls the Path...just not the one they were looking.
personally i find that in poor taste, to me it is the same thing as having someone truely interested in wicca searching for it online and rather than finding the goddess they were searching for, they find a dead jesus on a stick and a spew about hellfire and brimstone... it is never right to lure someone onto your chosen path because you think your path is right....i personally hope he is forced to change the addresses that you access the site by, and allow those searcing for occult sites to find them, and also allow the christians to find the sites they are searching for... and on top of that this person is also adding fuel to the fire of how we pagans and witches and other occultist lure unsuspecting people to us and then force them to partake of the rituals, and yada yada yada.... it is just wrong....totally wrong.
