Yet Welshman John Dee has been largely wiped from the history books because of his later interest in the occult.
Now a group of academics are determined to see Dee get the recognition that has been denied him for centuries.
They say Dee, born in 1527, was the great “Renaissance Man” of the era: a remarkable thinker whose knowledge, like da Vinci’s, spanned mathematics and science.

This is the same luminary whose code identity in the fledgling Secret Service was ... 007? Who built the Corn Exchange in Manchester (the same building which was partly demolished in 1996) ?
