After 50 Years, Alabama Pardons Rosa Parks

Title: AFTER 50 YEARS, ALABAMA PARDONS ROSA PARKS
More than half a century after U.S. civil rights icon Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat to a white man, the Alabama legislature on Tuesday voted to pardon her and others convicted for breaking segregation-era race laws.
The "Rosa Parks Act," approved unanimously by the state House of Representatives but opposed by three senators in the Senate, also clears the way for hundreds of other activists to wipe out their arrest records for acts of civil disobedience in the struggle for black civil rights.

Why am I not suprized that they waited until after her death to pardon her. Oh, and the who voted against should be a matter of public record... if you can find it that is.

How nice of them. To wait until she died in order to do it. At least they were a little sooner with their pardon than the Church was for Galileo. It took over 500 years for them to apologize for him.

I couldnt help but think "Hmmm well Alabama, too little too late".
Dont get me wrong, its a wonderful thing...its just too sad they had to wait till AFTER she was dead to do it.
Oh well...something is better then nothing I guess...but for Rosa...perhaps her spirit can rest a little more peaceful...

Those Arrest Records are part of History, and many will want to keep them. Alabama should make some Compensation for what damages those records might have caused, whether to Credit Rating &c, but otherwise the records should be listed on Certificates of Conscious, the next time the state wants to do a promo.
Decorate those Certs with the Confederate Battle Flag.
