Title: JUDGE IN ECHOLS' CASE RECUSES HIMSELF
  The federal judge who initially sent Damien Echols’ appeal back to state courts has recused from the case.
In a one-sentence order filed Wednesday, U.S. District Court Judge William R. Wilson Jr. said that “some of the principals in this case are long-time acquitances and friends of mine.”

Hmm. How is it that he can state a necessity to recuse himself now due to “…some of the principals in this case are long-time acquitances and friends…”? Where was his concern prior to any initial hearing (s) or ruling (s) that he may have made regarding this case? Also (as a side note) , what in the heck are “acquitances”? I am assuming (or hoping) that Arkansas Online is a hack online publication of some sort. It appears to be without a competent writer, editor, or anyone that can click on a spelling checker button prior to publishing.
