Title: LEGISLATURE CONSIDERS BILL DENOUNCING CONNECTICUT WITCH HUNTS
Centuries after the fact, state lawmakers are hoping to bring justice to those judged during Connecticut's colonial witch trials.
The Judiciary Committee is hearing testimony on a resolution that denounces the trials as shocking and the result of community-wide hysteria and fear.
The resolution also states that those convicted and their ancestors should be freed from the stigma of the witchcraft accusations.

...that these pardons are trivializing a long and powerful history of witchcraft. It seems like every day more and more convicted witches of the past are being pardoned with the notion that the charges against them are absurd and unfounded...which, given that the charge is witchcraft, implies that belief in witchcraft is absurd and unfounded.
