Are Religious Rituals Linked To Recent Grisly Findings?

Author: Michael P. Mayko Source: Stamford Advocate

Title: ARE RELIGIOUS RITUALS LINKED TO RECENT GRISLY FINDINGS?
Red candles illuminated the path to a frightening scene in a Madison Avenue basement near Bridgeport's Columbus School. There, a freshly butchered chicken's blood dripped into a bowl. The skull of an alligator sat atop a human skull on a goat's head. There were animal horns, colorful beads and strange writings.
On July 3, the children of a recently deceased Milford man arrived at his Mountain Grove Cemetery grave to plant flowers. Underneath a circular blanket of loose dirt were two human skulls. Stuffed inside were eight strips of blood-stained paper each containing a name.
Four days later Stamford police arrived at Woodland Cemetery, where the remains of a two-and-a-half year old girl dubbed "the Miracle Baby" (for surviving so long despite a brain deformity) were stolen.
Coincidences? Maybe. Religious rituals? Probably.

For a change, this story appears to describe the challenges of cops trying to do professional investigation of actual crimes involving complex religious issues, rather than the all too common sloppy work or assumptions based more on bigotry or fake experts than solid information and evidence.

Above is the book mentioned as the reference used in this case. 184 pages is pretty short for the complexity of issues distinguishing different Voudan variants, and a large range of other pagan rituals. Still, this time, we see credible, legitimate source material cited. Hooray!

When I first saw the headline I was thinking " oh great, another one of those sensationallistic hack jobs" but on actually reading the full text at the web site I was happily disappointed.
The article, while clunky in some places, actually included interviews of practices relevant to the evidence found at the scenes and did not thankfully put it one of those self-proclaimed " cult experts" yapping some biased nonsense.
I do think that if this is ever resolved the law enforcement might find a lone practitioner who mixed in whatever they though would work. I at first thought the teenagers messing around angle but the details are too close to some of the practices mentioned to be some idiotic imitator.
BTW whatever happened to those teenage heavy metal " hail satan" type vandals?

...a Brain?
Quite possibly...and creedism and religionism just don't do a brain or America justice either.
