Let's Get Metaphysical

Author: Christopher Yasiejko, The News Journal Source: Delaware Online (DE)

Title: LET'S GET METAPHYSICAL
It had been four-and-a-half years since the planets had arranged themselves properly overhead, and in the ballroom of Wilmington's Wyndham Hotel, an assortment of gleeful folk celebrated.
A man wore on his head the horns of a bull. A woman wore on her back the wings of an angel (or a fairy, or a sprite). Dancing with her was a man wearing black. He was bald, with a meticulously groomed beard and youthful eyes.
His name is Ivo Dominguez Jr., a 45-year-old Georgetown resident and an elder of a local Wiccan group called The Assembly of the Sacred Wheel.
Dancing nearby on the first Friday evening of this month were like-minded souls, people who put their faith in denominations most never know - druid and Wicca, Asatru and esoteric Christianity or Judaism, to name a few. Dominguez gathered them here not just to dance, but to examine through a conference an amalgam of mystical religions.
"Between the Worlds: A Grand Magickal Congress" is a periodic conference of the metaphysical, and earlier that day, there had been studious sessions in the halls of the hotel.

I went to the BTW in '01, and I wish I could have gone to this one, too. Perhaps they can make it a moveable feast sometime...

Very pleasant to see an article that doesn't get all stupidly ooky spooky about pagan faiths. Tho' the sidebar with 'facts' about various pagan traditions seemed a bit nutso here and there. Wicca is Celtic, for instance??! Gerald is rolling in his grave...but laughing or not, haha, I couldn't say.
