Stop Intolerance With Pagan Pride Festival In Dover

Author: Kimberly Holmes Source: WBOC-13 (DE)

Title: LOCALS CELEBRATE RELIGION
Hundreds will travel to Dover this weekend for the annual Delmarva Pagan Pride Festival, but some local critics say they do not welcome the group.
Organizer Ivo Dominguez Jr. was preparing for the event on Wednesday.
"It's really a day where we have people from different magical and esoteric religious backgrounds come together. We have speakers; we have music; we have vendors; we have kids' activities. It's really an open air spiritual festival."
Dominguez also runs Bell, Book and Candle, a shop where pagans can buy everything from spells to magic books to candles. He said paganism is a fast-growing religion right here on Delmarva.

I rest my case.
Just as the xians are going to destroy themselves with all their in-fighting, Pagan society in general is going to crumble because of the reconstructionist het-case playgans knee-jerking every time a Wiccan opens his mouth to set the record straight. NEWS FLASH: "inference" isn't admissable in a court of law.
/unlike the playgans, I actually work in law enforcement //dictionary-dot-com is a great site to learn big words, isn't it?

If you actually understood NT Christianity and OT Scripture, you'd grasp the notion that anything not of Jesus is verboten. They still make that crystal clear at RCIA shindigs, and your average Protestant minister can not quit blabbing about it. I thought everyone knew this? It's very simple for them, and a perennial problem for us. By 'us' I mean REAL pagans, not the kind with plastic fangs that read the Psychic Vampire Codex and get wet over animal slaughter. But that does make you an occult expert of sorts. Perhaps you should enter the police academy? At the very least, pick up a dictionary and look up 'inference,' so you can better understand what people mean as opposed to what they say.

I just love it when simpletons try to shove words into the mouths of others, like the inept Salesbury preacher claiming Paganism is "debbil worship" or the intellectually-dishonest imbecile who translates "Paganism is not atheism" into "hey, at least we Pagans ain't atheists! Hurr durr!"

Almost made it through this without a complaint. But at the very end, an otherwise thoughtful and nuanced organizer made sure to specify, hey, at least it's not atheism! If you really want to make friends and be inclusive, remember it's important not to single other people out. Some of the comments are off-kilter too, and wildly so. More of that 'no darkness' in paganism or witchcraft nonsense. Not a single one of us casts a curse, thinks ill, or hexes a bitter enemy, or staves off fire with fire! No skeletons in our closet, apparently. Just good wholesome atheist-free religion!
