The mother who fought to ban Harry Potter books from her children's suburban Atlanta school district said her work on the case has allowed her to find her calling - ministering to children and young adults.
"I never understood why I was involved with Harry Potter in the first place," said Laura Mallory. "I never expected all of that to happen, but I'm called, and my husband is called to this generation. We want to see them delivered from drugs, alcohol, the occult and sexual perversion."

New calling aye. Shes so up in the clouds that she can't realize that the Bible she lives by is choked-full of the stuff she is fighting. LOL!, ignorance is bliss ain't it. Thats another reason I left Christianity (correct spelling) because they have their noses so far up in their dogma and pointless bickering that they cannot realize what they believe is accutually what they are fighting, just the names have been changed.

I guess she better start preaching **against** the Christian Bible, then -- since it's just chock full of that stuff! Well, maybe not the drugs and alcohol.... But, as one of my own Bible-thumpin' relatives was fond of sayin': "Where you find incense a-burnin', you find pot bein' smoked!"
We all know that the Baby Jesus was comforted by Frankincense and Myrrh, two of the very finest incenses in all the world. I wonder, what else were those sandal-wearin', long-hair, hippie-freak Semites (that's "Jews" to you religious-type people. There weren't any Catholics or Muslims back then. Don't stone the messenger, now...) doin' in that barn?!

Sounds to me like she wouldn't know a new calling if one walked up and bit her in the tush.
As for why she doesn't understand why she got involved with the Harry Potter books. She knows exactly why- unless she has developed Alzheimers recently.
She 's entitled to her warped opinion- but the rest of us thankfully don't have to share it.

Well Mrs Mallory, trust me when I say, we never understood why you were involved either. It was none of your business and if you didnt want your son's taught the benifits of Love, Friendship, Loyalty, Honour, or Trust then all you had to do was tell your school board that, then remove them from the public school system and place them into a Christian run school.
I hope she finds peace in her life someday. She should absorb herself in her children, at least then we might not see them on some talk show 20 years from now as the kids whose Mother was abnormally obsessed with the occult of Harry Potter.

With its sexual perversion (incest is real perversion if you ask me) , alcohol use, and drug use - what do you think those "pungent herbs thrown on the fire" were, huh?
I would not let this whacko anywhere near my kids (if I had any) with her filthy book.
It is also full of witchcraft and covens. A coven is 12 students + 1 teacher = Jesus & 12 apostles. Turning water into wine, raising the dead, predicting the future and multiplying the loaves & fishes are all magic in my book - according to their book, they should have burned that witch not burned others in his name.

Having been handed nothing but humiliation and defeat from her peers (adults) in her irrational crusade, she will now focus her efforts on a group which lacks the intellectual or political resources to stand against her; children. Does anyone else see in her the same unhealthy preoccupation with certain subjects that I'm seeing? I will not be surprised when I hear of some unfortunate sequelae to her focus on "...drugs, alcohol, the occult and sexual perversion..."
This is not to say that _some_ of these things do not pose a very real threat to some people (both children and adults) , but rather that there is occasionally a sad outcome when someone conflates imagined threats with very real ones.
