Christians Demand Removal Of 'Satanic' 10 Commandments

Author: WorldNetDaily   Source: WorldNetDaily.com

Title: CHRISTIANS DEMAND REMOVAL OF 'SATANIC' 10 COMMANDMENTS

A Christian organization is pressuring the community of Elberton, Ga., to tear down a massive, granite monument that lists an alternative set of Ten Commandments that the organization labels satanic.

The monument, known as the Georgia Guidestones, was built under a cloud of mystery in 1980. It lists 10 commandments in eight different languages, including a call to establish a new world language, limit human population to 500 million and avoid being "a cancer on the Earth."

"We have atheists and Satanists getting the Bible's Ten Commandments removed from public property," said Mark Dice, spokesman for the group The Resistance, "yet the satanic Georgia Guidestones have stood for decades, and nobody seems to care. Well, we do."

The Problem With This... Jul 30th. at 5:35:54 pm EDT

bigcat (peoria, Illinois) - Email Me

is the fact that they have always lacked any originality or foresight in their thinking and this only proves my case. Of course, They are POed because someone complained that their own precious monuments can't be erected just anywhere where they want them, so this is their tired old knee- jerk backlash,
(if we can't have it -you can't either) syndrome.
There is nothing really "satanic" in those stones, but because they didn't write them naturally, "the devil" is in the works.
The trouble with yanking down and complaining about things on private land- is that if they win-they will lose, because theirs is not the only case that will be impacted. If the Georgia stones cannot stand on private land, neither can any church have a creche or monument on private land. Even them. And that would also mean that no house could have a display of any type on their own property without someone complaining about offense.

The Right To Believe... Jul 30th. at 2:35:12 pm EDT

wanderer36 (Rice Lake, Wisconsin) - Email Me

I don't have a problem with what the Christians believe in, but if they mess with the monument in any way, then they need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law since you know that's what they would do to anyone who messed with their monuments and such.

Balance personal rights against social duties. Wow, could a lot of mischief be made with that. I can imagine my personal rights being balanced by George Bush or Hillary Clinton.

Why not just move to China or Cuba where they already do this balancing act?

Orion 6Xray (Park City, Kentucky) - Email Me - Web

Then this biased Global Nutcase Daily story.

This man has gone by an alias in the news before. He is also known as John Conner, as spin from the Terminator movies, and if you cuil that name with Mark Dice you will get most of the info you need to make an informed opinion on him.

He has allied himself with other Christian extremists like Alex Jones and Mark Koernke. On the surface these men claim to be defenders of the republic but use rhetoric like "No king but king Jesus" and have stated that after the next American Revolution, a term used by Ron Paul and his new book "The Revolution: A Manifesto", that they would drive the New World Order (I.E. the power elite and the Pagan belief that supported them) back into the ocean and claim America back for Christians.

These men have gone after some of the most mainstream of the Christian beliefs and they have accused them of being corrupted by occult satanic forces. The hazard is these men have allied themselves with the 9/11 truth movement and are feeding of the energy of that movement to turn it into a power base because they have half truths and twist them into rhetoric that has thousands of people in the streets protesting.

Now whether you believe 9/11 was an inside job, or that Obama is going to be a new face to the same old system is besides the point there are millions of Americans who a disenfranchised and looking for a fight and you add on to the current situation in the middle east and the economy in its down ward spiral the environment today is ripe for some troubling times that are close at hand.

Between the Evangelical coup in the Armed Forces anf the so call Patriot/Truth movement we Pagans are besieged on every side.

These guide stones are just that a guide not a divine order from god. The hazard is that the vast majority of the Pagan community content on complaining about problems have left a festering wound in this country over take the court of opinion and left us marginalized to the point of ineffectiveness.

The answers are not simple but I recommend you watch who controls you thinking process and be aware of who you lend oaths and allegiance to.

And get prepared, for the sword of Damocles is about to fall.

" Satanic"? Really? Jul 30th. at 10:28:47 am EDT

foreverknightfan (Dardanelle, Arkansas) - Email Me

I agree with many here that this monument is on PRIVATE property and has the SAME protections as their creches and so forth on THIER private property

Secondly, judging by what these supposed "satanic" commandments actually say, from what little I know of Satanism, this isn't Satanism. It's not the Nine Statemts from LaVey's Satanic Bible.

But these offended Christians see it differently. Oh, care to guess that they also see " demons" and " satanic" elements in music, movies, video games, TV, Halloween, books, and whatever else they can find?

From what I understand their savior Jesus Christ said His followers should show compassion towards others and be meek and loving. I don't beleive I have seen anything in the Bible where Jesus commands the destruction or silencing of different views. But its found aplemty in the Old Testament and in teachings OTHER than by Jesus.

Doesn's anyone find this ironic, particularly for years these folks have been parading the" Ten Commandments" monument ( originally donated by the director of the movie, BTW, as part of a publicity stunt) on public property and vocalizing their disagreement with anyone who objects.

Let's see what would that be called?

Hypocrisy ( of which they have in spades)
Double standard ( need I list the many ways they do this?)

People so easiy offended need to lighten up. There are honest human needs these "Christians" need to address. A monument they disagree with takes higher priority than a hungry poor person or an abused child or spouse?

Public Vs. Private Jul 30th. at 8:31:38 am EDT

How in blue blazes can they compare a religious-themed monument in PUBLIC land with this eccentric piece on someone's PRIVATE land? Yeesh, people. They're just looking for outrages now, and it appears the pickins are slim.

Again....... Jul 30th. at 1:44:34 am EDT

Elwin Shadowstrider (Bartlett, Tennessee) - Email Me

.......we free thinkers are to lead the way, at least so we say amongst ourselves. We tout religious freedoms to ALL religions, not just our own, but all that are out there. Yes, we see this as a wonderful thing indeed, these stones....the American Stonehenge, yet we as a collective group fall into the same category of what we can't stand. Look at all these responses, very few are in any way positive at all...yes, I do see the threat to what we see as right; yet many refuse to see the other's point of view.

So what, they see it as "satanic", santified from Old Saint Nick himself, they too are entitled to their opinion; they too are entitled to believe what they wish, as far as we have come from the Burning Times, and we still have many groups involved foaming at the mouth over what no one can change. Their case will not stand in court, and they get to go on babbling whatever they wish.

We all are entitled to Free Speech, Freedom of Religion, why can't WE lead the way? The Stones are pointing at us all......regardless of faith, regardless of language, and yet we stand and throw rocks at others, we who are spiritually above this mindless chatter, are no better than the "other" faith. Stand up, and look at yourselves, the changes start with you, and collectively, WE all can bring forth change.....change that could indeed make the world and Gaia a much better place to be. The changes start with the singular...you, and the changes spread from us all....then true tolerance will begin.

Ah, yes, I haven't forgotten the Burning Times, nor what we have had to fight so hard to accomplish here in this country. I haven't forgotten the last time an Xtian group called me "Pagan bastard" to my face in public....it takes a greater spirituality to smile in the face of this and Bless those who hate so deeply, and go about my merry way.....without missing a step, and without returning hatred in kind. I do understand that not all Pagan Paths are the same, yet by the "Harm Ye None" I live and stand by, and remind myself daily that the Path I have chosen will not be easy, but, the Journey alone will be so worth the effort in the end.

Remember Peace my Brothers and Sisters, remember to give Peace a chance, and your own Path will be all the richer for it.

Population Control Jul 30th. at 1:23:20 am EDT

Feathercloak (Grand Junction, Colorado) - Email Me

No worries, we don't need any population control. When the planet needs to she will just shake us off like fleas and start anew.
We are so arrogant to think we can control what will happen to us. Perhaps another asteroid strike will do the trick eh? This world has had ways of regulating itself in the past and it will do it again.

As a native born Quebecoise, I have to ask "Ou est le francais"? Surely more people speak French than Swahli or Hebrew (which, before the establishment of the State of Israel, it was basically a dead language like Latin used only for prayers) . But besides that, I can't imagine why any sane person would object to them (which explains why the fundies are coming out, huh?) . By the way, thanks for the links. I couldn't get to the site without your help. Just one last question: how do we choose the omnilanguage? Do we decide based how on many people already speak it (Mandarin would be it) ? On how many countries use it as a native tongue (I'm guessing Spanish here) ? Which language is already the most influencial (English) ? Or the most pleasing to the ear (which is different for each person. To me, of course, that would be French) ? Or do we try to create a whole new language (which is what they tried with Esperanto and it failed miserably) ? Language is the heart and soul of a nation and a people. The English outlawed the Irish from speaking their native tongue. The slave owners of the American South forbade their slaves to speak their various African languages (and even forced Christian names upon them) , all to break the will. I can't help but think that while a universal language might be taught in addition to the native tongue, most people will fight tooth and nail before giving up such a unique marker of cultural identity and heritage.

WTF? Jul 29th. at 10:21:52 pm EDT

Karl (Detroit Metro, Michigan) - Email Me

As has been noted, the Monument stands on PRIVATE PROPERTY, and not one fundie has the right to make anyone take it down, just as no one has the right to make the fundies take their private property churches down. This brou-ha-ha started by the fundies is nothing but stupidity, which is the first Satanic sin. You fundies can put up all of the “10 commandments” monuments you want to on your own church property. What you will NOT DO, is put them on PUBLIC property, which is owned by the state.

As we know, the pentateuch (including the “10 commandments”) was fabricated in the 6th century BCE, and borrowed from the Principles of Ma’at, the Gilgamesh Epic and the Hammurabi Stele, etc.. Incredibly enough, there are those who still consider this (including such barbaric tripe as Numbers 31, etc.) to be the “word” of a deity.

My personal thoughts (>) on the Monument and its commandments:

1-Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.

>There is plenty of room on the Planet. What is needed is common sense, innovation and wise management. E.G.: They built a 48” 800-mile pipeline from the north shore of Alaska to carry oil to Valdez, but will they build desalination facilities and pipelines to carry fresh water to re-vitalize and terra-form drought-stricken areas of Africa, etc.? Hell, no. And just what is supposed to be done with the other 5,500,000,000 that are already here?

2-Guide reproduction wisely – improving fitness and diversity.

> Education, family planning & birth control are very important. Of course, these are anathema to the rabid fundamentalist, who wants people to have children, whether they can afford them or not. IMO, gender-selective and partial-birth abortion should be banned outright. There is no excuse for an educated adult to be pregnant when they don’t want to be. However, no woman should be forced to carry the child of her rapist or carry a pregnancy that will endanger her life. Fitness is important to overall health. Anyone not having dietary and exercise discipline deserves no sympathy whatsoever.

3-Unite humanity with a living new language.

>Uh-oh, naughty, naughty…..we all know what biblegod said about a common language in the “divinely inspired” “word” in the verses about the Tower of Babel myth, now don’t we? Actually, it’s a good idea to do some self-education and become bi- or even tri-lingual. It may even offer the possibility of a good-paying job at some point.

4-Rule passion – faith – tradition – and all things with tempered reason.

>Well, this one leaves out the fundamentalists for sure, now doesn’t it?

5-Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.

>The Constitution of The United States is supreme Law of the land. Appointing extremist nut-jobs to the judiciary will NOT result in just courts….anywhere.

6-Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.

>The National Sovereignty of the United States must never be compromised. Our abysmal foreign policy hasn’t helped matters any.

7-Avoid petty laws and useless officials.

>This pretty much would involve almost the entirety of Washington D.C…..

8-Balance personal rights with social duties.

>Freedom isn’t the right to do whatever you want, it’s the Responsibility to do as you ought.

9-Prize truth – beauty – love – seeking harmony with the infinite.

>Another tough one for the fundies. The Truth is the enemy of the rabid religionist and his guilt/shame/fear/control-mongering lies. Of course, to the fundie, seeking harmony with the “infinite” is defined as being a member of the “only true” sectarian herd as defined by and as promulgated in its “only true” dogmatic drivel, which is invented by its hierocracy.

10-Be not a cancer on the Earth – leave room for nature – leave room for nature.

>Those who destroy the Earth with pollution, cut down the rain forests, etc. are a cancer on the face of Humanity, as are the beastly Human Rights violators who quash Freedom and Liberty.

IMO, ignorance, irresponsibility, greed and the control-mongering of religionists and statists are some of the prime causes of much of the misery and suffering endured by humanity today. Yes, it’s easy to understand why the fundies would consider this Monument to be bad. Anything out of line with their “only true” dogmatic constructs is…….of “the devil”.

That’s my 2˘-worth.

These stones are not satanic in nature at all, its just the christians way of attempting to frighten people. The monument is on private proplerty and they can not do anything about it. If this chritsian group does something illegal to these stones , they should be prosecuted for it. Cheistian just need to shut thier mouths about what other believe.
