New Program Gives Wounded Warriors Work Preserving America's Past

Author: Dustin Blanchard Source: nbcaugusta.com

Title: NEW PROGRAM GIVES WOUNDED WARRIORS WORK PRESERVING AMERICA'S PAST
It's a program for those who fought for our nation's future to help preserve our past. The first-of-its kind program is putting Augusta veterans to work.
Archaeologist Sonny Trimble says he was looking for a way to help the soldiers who defended him on a dig in Iraq. That's when he thought of the piles of artifacts left over from Army Corps of Engineers projects.
Now, Trimble's about a month out from putting the vets to work, curating the archaeological collections.

that any veteran seriously wounded or otherwise seriously injured in a combat zone should be set up for life with a very comfortable yearly tax-free stipend (about 60-70K sounds about right) , free 1st rate medical care, and anything else he/she might need to live a quality life. After all, if you have to swallow the fear of death or dismemberment on a daily basis - in some cases for years at a time, DAMMIT, they OWE you a LOT more than a pat on the back and a half-hearted 'thank you'! If combat veterans had to be handsomely compensated as above, the war-mongering idiots in congress would be a lot less anxious to go to war in the first place, especially since virtually NONE of THEIR sons and daughters ever joined the military, let alone get sent to a combat zone! I think that we SHOULD reinstitute the draft, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Good. He's not like crooked corporations who prefer to hire college students who keg-stood their way through college only to hand in a plagiarised final essay to BARELY graduate instead of the military veteran with experience in the field in question.
